is a 76 nova any good if yes why for what? if 2 door drag race. 4 door 76 last good year for derby use if built right. buy all 1/4" plating you can and weld, weld and weld some more. then you'll be good to go.

for derby purposes novas are junk. they take wayy too much to be competitive, and stock an 80's gm can beat them fairly easy imo. take the bumper and sell the rest/drag it.

Just one notch. Right in front of the shock. There is a natural bend to the frame. Contradicting opinions... If I tuck the trunk, how far should I measure off the existing crease to cut the reinforcement and make a fold??

it'll be time for my wife to run the malibu soon and i cant decide whether or not to leave the factory bumper on it (starting to bend down, smash flat in the center, and the ends are curling back) or to cut it off and replace with a fresh bumper. the factory bumper has the shocks compressed and welded solid with a small strap welded to the frame. if i replace i plan to hardnose and crease the horns from the a-arms forward. i can pick up a 73 monte bumper for cheap, but idk how it would hold up?? i know a 73 isnt as good as a 74/75, but do yall think it would work ok. rules are light weld. bumpers can be seam welded and hardnosed. no switching around brackets/shocks from different cars... here's a couple pics...

Change the bumper but DON'T use the 73 monte it would be worse then the bent stock bumper

I just ran across one of these by my house, my question is how well do the rear ends hold up? I usually run no weld so I couldn't leaf it. Should I pick it up or leave? I usually run gm so I'd build the front like prior cars. Thanks
