How good are the front bumpers on eagles? Looking to replace my 89 grand prix bumper if its an upgrade. It is one of the stoutest aluminum bumpers out there, but it is just that....aluminum.

how tough are the eagles?...my cousin found me one and im not sure who owns it but before I go through the trouble of finding who owns the car and buying it, I want to know if it will be worth the trouble....this is my first compact car I have ran, I've only run big cars, so im not sure if the amc eagle is any good or if its something I should jump on and get to building...

Once yo get rid of the front differential, it's easy to dump just about anything into that hole.

Like he said, with a couple more details, Hornet is 108", Eagle is about 109.7
Remove the front differential (ten minute job with the engine and cv axles already out), and the Eagle will give you more engine/oil pan options than the Hornet/Gremlin.....simply more room to work with
The angle that the 4x4 spindle on the Eagle puts the a-arms at, makes them easier to tear up, along with the upper ball joints.
Closer inspection will reveal that the Eagle has a little more structural beef, front and rear.
Eagle has a bigger tunnel to accommodate the transfer case.
Rear axle is above the springs on the Hornet, under on the Eagle.
.............
Getting an Eagle to pass inspection as a Hornet or Concord depends on the compact competence of the inspectors.
