Will 9 wire from the roof around the frame help that? Or does just some simple all thread through the back do the trick?

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS CHANGE BODY MOUNTS ....TUCK/NOTCH ....SHORTEN THE FRONT FRAME 4-6 INCHES AND HARDNOSE AND THEY ARE BETTER THAN A MID 70S GM... FRONT AND REAR ( BESIDES CADDIE NOSES ) found that out the hard way lmao

77 cougar I ran last weekend before and after a 2nd place heat finish(which gets you dick at this show) pulled the front end down and did alittle welding and ran it the next day Got shoved/pinned in a corner because I was attempting to hide the front end,so after pic looks pretty much the same. The left front frame horn broke off completely and the right side is not far behind, thinking I'm going to weld new ones on and give it another shot. Being as I'm starting from scratch what would be the best route to take? Would I be better off cutting the frame horns off a diffrent type of car or just shorting up a set from the same type of car? What ever I do it has to look some what like it belongs there when I'm done. Basiclly have a open book from the engine cross member forward......any advise or thoughts would be more then welcome.

What were your rules for that show?

pretty much stock..ford on ford and so on, weld doors/trunk 3" on 3" off. stock suspension. There was alittle wiggle room enforcement wise but all in all they kept it fair. Should have notched the rear, couldn't tell what it was doing while I was out there so pretty much just sent it forward. Will probably go to a show that allows alittle more for the next round just because I'm gonna have to do a fair amount of welding on the front to get back together.

it wouldve made the world of difference if you wouldve shortened the nose about 6 inches ...........I love the nose of these cars.......... ESPECIALLY after you run them once and can help slow the firewall bending with a couple choice plates ;D when theyre shortened they slowly will go at the very front crossmember but it didnt bother me how slow mine bent up there......

What ever goes on there will be shorter then what was there, 1st time running this show and wasn't sure just how far I could push the rules, collapsed the Ibeam brackets and thats about it. Number one thing I wish I had done was notch the rear, would have helped save the front big time.Pretty much gave up hitting with the rear 1/4 of the way through the heat.
One thought that has crossed my mind is welding brackets on right at the front cross member. Won't leave much room up front but as long as the bumper stays on it should hold up pretty good. Not looking to build a winner out it just peice it back together, get a quality run, and finish it off.

what type of wheels, besides the oem t-birds of course, will fit on a 77 t-bird? We have tried wheels from vics and towncars, both 80s cars, but they are off by about 1/4 inch. thanks
