the older birds and marks are the same
but when the birds went to the single crushbox.. it changed
like one guy on the old wecrash said .. the bird fronts aren't as good at the LTD and mercury.. I'd say thats why.. and there used to be a picture of a lincoln front stub and bird side beside.. they have the same shape..but a birds frame gets smaller infornt of the a-arms and the lincoln and I say the LTD stay the same
I wish I had a good picture of my bird with the front off.. cause I got a picture of a mark frame

It varys, that's what I'm trying to figure out. How much of a build/rules it will take to compete. Limit weld mostly, hardnose, tilt fords, any bumper, or I have a show where you stop welding when you can't afford the wire anymore. Or put it for sale

they are actually very good cars for any type of show besides completely bone stock...............but even then you can use your imagination to make things look stock and then they are still pretty hard....... us 70s Ford guys will not hesitate to take on a regular gm with them.......the larger rear frame designed cars with the larger rear pillars ( torinos, marks, cougars, etc. ) i would even take against an Electra/Olds 98 ass to ass......they dont belly as easy

mine all bend at the firewall with just hardnosed and no frame seam welding......its all on how high you mount your bumper and how much you shorten the front frame

Yea with them hardnosed, there going to give at the firewall.. But I think if you can run a distributor protector, I thinking it'll do just like mine.. Which yea it's bent.. but its still run able
