whats the best way to mount a 6pt cage in a fury3? 4 downs touching frame 2 touching body, planned on rear 2 on body, seat 2 going to rear of sub frame, and front 2 down to frame but not sure on how to get it to the top of the frame without it being set in from the body on the sides or touching the firewall. any tips? just tryin to keep it legal, can pm if you would like? 1. All cars should have a safety cage. 2. You should have a six point cage. The cage can be welded to the frame in four (4) places. Must go to flat part of frame. You can have up to six (6) down posts, three (3) per side (4 to frame, 2 to sheet metal). You should have a dash bar, a cross bar behind the seat and two (2) door cross bars. The door bars cannot be less than 12 inches off of the floor. YOU MAY RUN A 3RD CROSS BAR AT THE BACK SEAT AREA ...DO NOT WELD OR BOLT IT TO THE BACK SEAT SHEET METAL ..FLOATING ONLY cannot do this at b port No kickers to the frame humps- front or back. All down post must be straight. (NO ANGLES) 3. Door bars must stop at dash bar. Nothing in front of dash bar. 4. Dash bar cannot be more than 6 inches in front of front door seam. Dash bar cannot be in front of front door post. 5. ALL DOWN TUBES MUST BE BEHIND THE DASH BAR, STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN AND ON THE FLAT PART OF THE FRAME. CANNOT GO TO THE BODY MOUNT BOXES Read more: showtimepromotions.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rules&action=display&thread=5#ixzz1h9D65YLt

I can only weld back 10 inches by my rules and i am stretching it where it is. i was gonna put two big bolts through the y and hope it holds the bottom tight too.

If you could get nuts and washers on the inside of the frame, with your bolts, it could help. It would then act as a pin in the frame. If you leave those holes open on top, it will bend there for sure.

You could try takin out the body bolts separating the sub from the body and plating the top of the sub then bolting it back down then welding the sub to the body. never tried it but it seems like it might help.

run you a piece of some heavy strap or stock and weld it to the floor and incorporate it to the cage. then well or No. 9 wire the plate to the back part of the sub. Think of it as inside subframe connectors.
