I'm sure that AFAB 9" ears could be adapted easily also.

IS A BIA STRONGER THAN A C CLIP?

Axle to axle a BIA is not stronger than a c-clip. At the splines they are the same so long as they are the same spline count. And at the bearings a c-clip is thicker. Also the flanges on a c-clip have no holes unlike a bolt in that has 4 holes.

Anyone know the correct part number for the bearing and bearing retainer on the wheel end of a 12 BIA? My original axle got bent, so I ran my spare that had a bearing and retainer pressed on at an auto shop. I either should have tacked it, or something else was wrong, because my retaining plate, bearing, and bearing retainer are all still in the housing, and I have a bare axle laying on the ground next to it. No damage to the splines, so it literally just slid out of the housing... not fun. Looking back, I should have put a tack on the inner side of the bearing retainer...but you live and learn.

i picked up a 10bolt 8.5 rear end that has the cv flange on the pinion. i don't have any drive shafts that have the correct end. can i use any 10 bolt pinion yoke?? i have one of a smaller 10 bolt out of a cutlass. and what all vehicles had the cv yoke in it? slider drive shaft is not in budget right now but wouldn't mind just keeping the cv flange on the rear end if i can find a shaft i can use with it until I get a slider.

Timken Set 10 or National A10....if they do not have the seal...parts store should be able to match up this part # DS35239

Ok, i have a 76 pontiac. It has the 10bolt cover 12 bolt ring rear under it. Can i put a 10 bolt carrier in it and use 10 bolt gears? Will the pinion fit right? What do i have to modify to make it work? It has 2.56's i welded the spiders and this thing is a DOG. I know a few pages back you can change it out for a truck carrier but what one? Thanks in advance guys.
