I do not believe so. The 31 spline c clip ones out of pontiacs ect. work well. And you will have to drill the carrier a 31 spline axle will not slide into the carrier.

With a stock axle I would say maybe 4:11's. You don't want to go to high.

Does an 8.5" 10 bolt ring and pinion BOP gears bolt directly onto an 8.5" 10" c-clip? ? Got a 74 olds and a 76 gm. I'm wondering if i can get away with just buying one set of gears. Are the pinion diamater's(in the housing) the same? Any imput would be great, thanks.

The bare 89 housing will be a C-Clip....it will accept either 28 or 30 spline. They're a dime dozen as far as value...IMO
If the other one is complete...look for either "The Bulge" at the axle tube end or if it has flat tabs or 11/16" nuts holding the backing plate on. Flat tabs=BIA 11/16" nuts= Clipper If it is indeed a BIA....the housing itself will accept 28 or 31 spline shafts...

IMO....whatever you can get out of them....they're pretty easy to come by.

Does anybody know where to find a set of gears 4.10's or 4.88's for a gm 14 bolt for under $150, i would even take a used set as long as they were in good shape.

Got a 76 impala in on a trade. Theres no rear. Ive been running mopars for 13a years not very comfortable with gms. Any recommendations? You can make (or order) ears and lower control arm brackets that allows you to put an 8.75 mopar rear into a coil spring car. Since you are comfortable with mopars, and I assume you already have built rears, this may be a good option. Or you could always find a 10 and/or 12 bolt BIA rear...
