Alright, I have read all of the caddy threads already before someone jumps my shoot, and I still have a few questions. I am in the process of swapping my 10 bolt bia housing into my 72 coupe deville. From what I read the lowers will bolt up, and I will weld the upper brackets I remove from the caddy rear to the other rear-end. Correct so far?? Hear is my dilemma. I noticed the caddy coils are there own breed as well with bigger upper openings. Do the 10 bolt bia coil mounts line up with the caddy or am I going to need to weld the coil mounts from the caddy rear on the other rear as well? The coil mounts are in a different location between the two. I took a piece of pipe for each side and welded upright so that way they don't fall out either. But you dont have to do it that way but works well for me.

how much difference is there between a 68 and the mid to early 60's cars I have a 65 and I'm not seeing a difference in the frame from the a-arms forward from the other y frame caddy cars. my frame looks like the y framer someone posted on here to show how to close the y's up. Am I missing something because I was thinking about running this car at a tuff show in November or January. Or is this a mistake. A 65 is nothing like a 68. Are you sure its a 65? Is it an X frame in the center section? Does the frame come all the way to the bumper or does it have big long bumper brackets? Do you have any pictures of the car/frame?

I ran the same combo last year. Loved it! Make sure you flip your steering linkage on the pittman arm and idler arm (its explained better on page 3) otherwise as the car bends your steering with be in the oil pan with that 350 in a hurry.

can someone snap a pic of how they are mounting a bumper after the point of welding the ys together... are we sticking bumper shocks on the inside of the rail and mounting to there?? the rails have an outward angle after you close the y. id like to see whats being done next... i just pulled a 72 into the garage.....

Don't have a pic but I put my shocks on the inside of the frame rails and welded the bumper across the front frame piece also. Was rock hard up front all night.
