I have a 1996 Roadmaster that I leafed in the rear. I saw dimpling the hump. I plan to run a chain in the rear from rail to rail. Where should I Notch and how big to ensure this wagon bends up? I read about double and triple notching and say the triple as overkill. Also, my releaf job was me throwing the original leafs pre-run from a 69 International pickup. They have their natural curve. We are not allow to pin the frame.
Also, In the front I saw a cut in the frame behind the body mount of the firewall. Is this recommended as well?
I know this is a repeat of old news, I just want to do the best I can with this out of my busted knuckle garage...
Thanks!!!

DO NOT slice the front frame...that started in a thread for someone too lazy to read, and was being a punk...so people gave him very bad advice. The only time you ever slce is if you are going to tilt and reweld. As for the back, notch at then end of your leaf mount toward the rear bumper(outside of the leafs). I wouldnt notch inside your leafs, unless you HAVE to after a heat. Prebend the rear slightly and beat the rear roof up to releave the pressure from the roof(there are pics in this thread and in the pics thread). These wagons are one of the very few metric GMs i would put time into, so take your time and read up/study pics.

I thought it would be pretty stupid to cut the frame there. Thanks for the clarification on what to do 513monster!! When I put in the leaf springs the rear axle was too far forward. I was utilizing the body mount to bolt the front of the spring to(Did this to two Crown vic's in past). I moved the leaf 4 inches back to another hole in the frame that the 3/4 rod fit through. The leafs in front of the axle were fairly flat. Is this where they belong in the 96 roadmaster or did I just mess stuff up?

Why not just use the lower trailing arm mount?
