Ok guys can anyone help me? I’m looking to see what the differences are between the 77 to 79 and the 80s and newer caddi are. I have my hands on both but was curious as to why most people prefer the 77 to 79 over other metric caddi

I’m not sure what the exact differences are but they tend to stay down in the front longer, plus I like the body style more

77-79 have more bracing in the front clip that tend to benefit more when you start to add pressure to things and Has the bigger bumper shocks

They are both metric though. Ive ran 77 coupes to 96 fleetwoods. The price of the 77-79 is outrageous at the moment. Ive done very well with every caddy ive ran all of them bent the same no matter the year when they are built the same. The 93-96 Fleetwood I kinda prefer over the rest if your allowed a little body shaping. But like I said 77-79 Have the Better front clip for sure little better suspension but with our rules around me they are all pretty equal in the chain/limited weld no protector class

Took a 2nd place with this 77 caddy. By far on of the harder cars I have ran in the front end. Went up against 03s all night.

That one was a 94. I dunno, I’ve never ran a box Caddy. I’ve ran other box GMs and other bubbles.
My theory is the 94-6 fronts are better than the box but the box azzends are better than the bubbles.
Box Caddy tho, I won’t have an opinion on til a lil later this year.

I have researched about the Cadillac pretty heavily. I think 80% of the cars I have built since 2006 have been 77-89 Cadillacs, rest were other 80s GM products. I have really wanted to try a newer Cadillac though. Newest I have built was a '92 Roadmaster.

Didn’t see much difference between the 94 Caddy and the Roadmaster i had or the bubble Caprice I ran.

No concern of humps because leafs? Nope kinda trial and error tho. First one we did like this. The bumper height is 22 to bottom, double dimpled, extra bodymounts, etc.... It’s almost done needs a bit more welding.
