I agree that on the first look, it's not really safe... But here, in Quebec, Canada, most of the tracks are way smaller and on pavement (asphalt). I have never heard of somebody who got hurt badly but I know it's not a good way to see the situation. I would love to be able to run cages, bars... Because I'm assuming that it could be less damaging for the car and of course for my own protection...

In my opinion, asphalt would be even more dangerous.

I know Stromi, that's the reason why I said that it wasn't a good way to see things... All the derbys are like this arond here... It's not only one promoter

If you could convince atleast one promoter, it will spread.

You are right. At least for safety...

I mean, I guess that's one way to stop drivers from using their door for blocking lol

Im in the same province as generaldoum about 4 hours away from him and only thing we get is a door bar that can pass 1 foot on each side if the druvers door bolted on the outside and a seat bar from floor thru the roof. But the officials will stop the race if they deem your car too fangerous for your safety

If you're not derbying on a football field, and every driver doesn't have a 10,000 dollar drivetrain, then I would have no problems running without a cage. My first three cars I ran starting in 2001 had no cages. A 91 Caprice, 78 Aspen, and 86 Bonneville. But again they werent the big huge dry tracks everybody has nowadays and nobody had high horsepower big money motors or gears. The way the sport has evolved does make cages an absolute must though.
