I believe there is a access panel you have to unbolt underneath. iv only taken one gas tank out of a round back and that was in a 73 chevy. hope this helps.

there is a pan in the front of the tank to tire, then you'll see a strap to unbolt and one on the bottom if I remember correct then pull it out the bottom and cut the hoses... not really hard,

^^^ yup pull screws out of wheelwell behind driver rear tire.... there is strap with bolt that can be cut if rusted to hell.....knock out fill hose and cut lines off top. or you can cut the lines back little farther under car if need be......

Makes life alot easier if you get the car jacked up and put on jack stands. IMO

Check in the midsize tips section, as your wagon is coil spring and the wagons discussed here are the fullsize leaf wagons. Two completely different animals.

i need a front clip for 73 chevy wagon. How close are the front clips/ dog houses to a 71-76 sedan? I'm sure with cutting supplies and a welder anything could work, just didn't want to pick something up and find out the wagon front end was longer or something goofy. I realize these are not the years you asked about but, 75 olds wagon with 74 chevy clip.

Not the best photos but this how we have been doing our wagons lately and had great success them them. On the drivers side we cut out an upside down triangle and that thin piece of metal out in the back that connects from the inner panel to the tail gate area. On the pass. Side we made a notch on the thick panel. Not shown is two notchs made on the interior of the roof. Nick
