Well took me two years of patience, but finally got finish fixing and running the caddy I messed up building for mod class. Promoter allowed a long shock in front of thee get cradle to even out the odds against imps. Took me all but an hour to do. Was a little show but got tested right away by not just an imp but also a Vic with kickers. Still straight after go nose to noses of those two cars AT THE SAME TIME.

I just got a 74 caddy. I'm using it for a limited weld show(only allowed to weld A arms forward). I'm allowed 1 added brace from each frame horn to bumper. Any suggestions?
Also Im using the stock rear end. I remember reading on the old site to drill the lower trailing arms a half inch forward to help with the way the rear-end. I read some guy said to shorten them 2inches. Has anyone done either?

I always shorten the lowers two inches and put taller stiffer springs in the rear.

How tall of a spring do you use? I got a bunch of different springs I can use from racing my street stock.

I have a few more Cadillac questions. I'm going to run the 472 motor. Should I keep the stock radiator, or put in a 31" X 28" 2core aluminum racing radiator(old spare for my race car). And no one said anything about the stock motor mounts if they are good or bad.

Does anyone know the lengths of 71-76 Cadillac axles? Not the housing, but the actual axle shafts.

I cant remember the exact measurement but one is much longer than the other. Neither are the same length or spline count as any other rearend besides a Caddy

Right, if they are the needed length, I will have them resplined to fit my application. I just can't find a measurement anywhere and don't have a pair of my own to measure yet.

I think you need two long ones. But that's just what I read on here many years ago.

Ran a 75 and 76. Wasnt to impressed. No protectors though. Both seem to bend behind a arms pretty quick on pass side. Now I have a 73 where I plan on taking it allows leaf conversions along w homemade xmember and dp. No althread through core support so ill extend dippy shock from, bumper and bolted at a arm. Anything else I'm missing? Just read through the hole, thread. And seems like leaf and x member swap will help out a lot.

Get creative with your bumper shock mounting if allowed. It will bend in the same spot your other one did. Right where you stop welding the shocks on.

Ill have to check rules again but I can only weld 6in of frame behind core support but can bolt the shock at the a arm. No steal bells/trans braces only dp.

Have a 73 Fleetwood with a rusty body. Has anyone ever tried using a 70s roundback body on caddy frame.
