I'm leafing an 85 GM wagon I've built my flat stacked leaf packs and used the lower control arm mount in the front to mount them to the frame. My question is what is the best/strongest way to mount them in the rear. shackles? hard mounted? Directly under the frame? I see you're in Missouri. What show you planning on running?

going to do a leaf conversion on my 69 coup de ville. any suggestions on what kind of spring packs to look for? or any tips if anyone has done this conversion.

I built mine from a set of 3/4ton chevy pickup leaf springs and a few leafs from a bronco. If you flat stack them when you buuld them the leaf packs will be alot stronger. How many leafs and clamps can you run?

rules say max 6 clamps, 3 on each side and a 1/2" bolt through the middle. by flat stacking you mean flipping some of the leafs upside down?

says no truck springs also... if its done right shouldnt be able to tell the differnece right?

My rules allow me to run 9 leafs per side with 6 clamps. And yes, flat stacking is when you filp every other or a few of the leafs upside down then tighten and clamp them together. As far as it saying no truck springs, whos gonna know what they came off of? No car comes with 6 leafs stock anyways. Just build them out of a light-med duty truck and you will be good. Also id ask if you can wrap the leaf packs in duck tape once you have them on and clamped. Use like one whole roll per side. Wrap the clamps and springs. This will help hold them together even more and will keep your clamps from sliding around and coming loose.

some had more than 6 No car comes with 6 leafs stock anyways.

When short leafing a Vic with flat strap how short would you go? I'm thinking around 48in and that would put the end of the leaf pack behind the 2nd to last body mount. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I was wondering if anyone has pictures or suggestions. I am looking to re shackle and build a leaf pack for my car. It says top leaf can be shorten by 12 in and re shackled with a 3 in bracket. Does anyone have ideas or pictures. Thanks.

What type of car are you building? As for short stacking, measure back from the eye 12" and cut the main leaf there. Next, slide that piece between the main leaf and the one under it. Use clamps to hold it in place. Cut the remaining leafs to same length.

Sorry, no pictures. Hopefully someone else may have some.
As for mounting the short stack, I have use large dia. all thread ran through the spring eye and the frame. I use a piece of pipe as a spacer between the two. No shackel.

Does anyone have photos of how they remounted the springs after shortening the top spring. Photos will help a lot.
