Well I am trying to figure out what to do with my 79 doba. I have been looking at this HEI stuff and been contemplating it because I understand it more than I do other wiring diagrams. But I guess what I'm getting at is what to do in general. Like stated before its a 79 so clean burn system. I don't want to do that so what route should I go? I am wanting to eliminate all that wiring and do the most simple wiring possible, while still being reliable. (And I have never dealt with points on a car, so I would try but would need help with the first time). Dunno I guess I am just trying to find a perfect solution in an imperfect world.

After going back through the wiring section found this quote by dm440c .

Like I said before I like HEI better. It seems to me they perform better, an we haven't had a problem other than the first time we were getting it wired up and finding the right wires. To each there own though.

I run D.U.I setup kind of pricey but, I have no problems with it and its built for my motor. After talking to the guys that make these dists, I just bought one of their setups. They took the specs of my engine and are tuning the dist accordingly. That's well worth the price in my book

Ihave ran mine for three years and it has never missed a beat. as soon as you talk to these guys you see they know what they are doing. each one is custom made for you.

If I get the piece that Winslow sales to be able to use a HEI, what hei is a good one for derby use? I'm just going to try one 360 with a Hei and the other without and see what I like better.

If if is the skip white one it ran me about 50 with shipping if in correct. Then 40 for the high output summit coil. What wiring diagram did you use for this hei setup?
