Was it a homemade or a pro built one? ...... Reason I ask is check out E2s sliders and see the after pics of cars with his sliders. Thats where im going. Seems lot more versatile with me alot of different cars with different wheelbases etc. Please please please don't waste ur time or money on a tri oval had one behind a 300 hp 327 hit it once and twisted and ripped and destroyed the floor.... Scary situation stick with splined or square IMO!

gooseneckthor=napalm72 board=generaltips thread=26767 post=290861 time=1356792677]I built my own and saved $200. I used nerat ends but I got the shaft from John Deere. You can get about any length you want. A rule of thumb about a Shaft is to only have it extended 1/3 of the length of the shaft which will keep it from bending. I have four runs on mine with no problems.[/quote] Key words. "Neret ends". The ends are the important part. Fyi for anyone looking to build there own.

just picked up a E2 slider they come 58" collapsed when i measure what i need i get 50". my question is how much from collapsed should i be pulling out when i get it hooked up?? 3-4inchs??? i dont want to cut off so much that i cant use in a old iron or longer wheel basecar. im thinking of cutting off 11-12 inches making it 46-47 long collapsed and would still have a good a good chunk of the "female" end in the "male" end. any suggestions??

Thanks. I looked at the previous pages, but obviously must have skipped over it. How long of a bolt should you use? I'm guessing 1.5inches would do just fine??? Grade 8 of course.

We have 4 or 5 of andys sliders. Run each of them several times a year. Absolutely no trouble with them. Last I knew he is still running then first slider he ever made. Hanson sliders imo are the best out there
