Again, on the Pontiac Bumper shock/mounts, I have them pulled off the frame, now when I swap the sides, do I need to cut and form them around the frame? Was told on here a while back that If you don't switch sides on the mounts, then the nose will start to turn down. or should I cut the frame where the little "ear" comes out, bend it back some and weld the bumper there? Also, those bolts were a pain in the ass! crappy tack welds, and next to the head of the bolt looked like a gear.

There is nothing good about pontiac bumper and brackets. Stock pontiac brackets tend to rip and tear you would be better off to put on chevy horns and bumper.

They aren't terrible, they are decently hard, big and heavy bumpers. I ran one on the front of a 73 impala years back. It held up great, the bumper brackets on the other hand, not so much.

^^^ Yeah, I would not recommend setting a 74-76 Chevy sedan low in the back if nothing is done to the humps. The wagons of course, cause they are leafed, but the sedans when set low tend to blow the humps out.

how do you suggest doing the azzend of em. i see above dont go to low, but trunk wise, tuck the lid or wedge about like you would a newstyle ford? also how are the a arms and suspension on them? very strong or ball joints easily break? thanks again for the info guys.

Dimple right in front of bumper bracket. Tuck right above dimple. Ball joints are fine. If you set the front end as high as it will go put the back an inch or two lower than the front.

I've seen good results with a tuck and canoe.

if rules allow id also run a chain tieing the start of the humps behind the rear together, wire roof to frame right in front of lower control arm on frame and some hammer time back there never hurts.

I wouldn't wedge it I haven't done it but I have seen it done and I just have never liked the out come of course this all depends on the build ...leave the quarters up body line them short trunk it and heave er down a little bit. And see what happens trunks on cars are all about what else you do to it or the hits that happen on the track ...this is just my opinion ....and I wouldn't worry about the a arms and ball joints they will hold there own
