Question? If you were allowed a 14 inch bumper bracket and 4 plates (6x6x1/8) fresh. Could you get away with not putting a plate behind the 14 inch bumper bracket and in front of the A-arm and use all 4 plates behind the A-arm ( 2 plates per frame rail) with out it bending much in front of A-arm? Then get 4 more plates after your heat run. I know there are alot of factors that could be used for this. Just a general idea. 75 olds 98 4door non tow package. Obviously boxed side rails. I have all kinds of loaded bumpers. Probably 74,76 Chevy bumper. Plus 2x2 a-Arm straps for the spring pocket. Thanks. use 2 infront of arms. A Lot easier to pull S straight or Down if it puckers there... Then plate the shit out of the S after heat...

cut the stock cradle out, move it forward a few inches, weld it back in :-) What about lower control arm lining back up? Steering is going to be tight in front of the cradle unless you do some heating and bending... shorten pitman arm and idler. You can also move the upper tower for the A arm too. It's work, but guys do unimaginable things these days for a bit of edge.

I can see where that can possibly benefit but would have to move rear lower control arm mount also and that is not a simple task and cover up. Also I feel like it would put more pressure on the S. I will have to see where mine bends in a couple weeks.

your rules are almost exactly what i'm building mine to. I have 14 bumper plate. I'm also allowed 2 6x6 per rail before inspection. I have one where 14 plate ends to the spring pocket and 1 on the S...
