Just wondering what you guys are doing for wiring on these. Have a wheel horse that I mow with. Key switch went bad so I put in a universal one from auto zone and now I don't have spark. I don't know if one of the safety interlocks took a crap on me. But thinking about just bypassing them all and putting in a push button. Any help would be appreciated. It's an 1989 312 with Koehler magnum engine.

Hey there new to the forum figured I would share a couple picks of my first mower before and after. Didn't do to bad popped a tire and then the carb messed up. Hey howd you wire it up to start? I hot wired it. Removed the ignition switch, brought a power wire from the battery, the generator wire which I believe was green, the positive coil wire and the purple wire from the starter relay up to the dash. Connected the green wire from the generator and my battery wire together, then put a alligator clip on the coil wire so I could connect it and disconnect it and touched the starter wire to the power wire and it started just fine. Didn't want the safety switches interfering with it.

I got an allis Chalmers that's built like a tank but now has no acceleration. What is a good pulley ratio for a good combination of speed and acceleration?
