Hey Bone....that could be part of your braking system. When clutch or brake is engaged it may hit the rear pulley to slow it down...could be the use....but I really don't know. Honestly, I would Google your model of Toro and see if you can find a diagram that names the part and that may help. Good luck!

I have a late 60's/early 70's model 72 cub cadet. It would make one hell of a derby mower. It's set up for garden tractor pulling. Doesn't have the original 7hp, but has a rare 10hp block. For those of you who know, a k241 is a 10 horse Koehler motor. When they ran out of 10hp motors in the factory, they took 12hp blocks and machines the cylinder walls to a standard 10hp piston, which means this block can accept up too a .30 over bore of a 12hp! I rebuilt it myself a couple years back and had done nothing but pull. It needs a battery, and the carb cleaned and it would run just fine. Has a 3 speed drivetrain with a clutch/driveshaft setup. Has 23x10.50x12 Carlisle straight bar tread on the back on wide steel wheels with tubes. These things are getting harder to find and and worth a good chunk. I'd take $400 for it. Has a sweet header pipe too. Located in southern Illinois.

Hey Wrecking ball, I'm kinda new as well. I don't go with smaller tires as I opt for larger ones. Bigger tires - better grip - harder hits - ... Any way KEH if you still have that sears suburban laying around I may be interested. Let me know. Thanks

Thanks. im pretty new as well, but i tubed my rear tires, since they are my main worry for tires, theyve taken some serious hits and gashes, and the tubes keep em holding up fine tubes are like 9 bucks at rural king

As old and heavy as possible. I look for heavy rearends, cast iron front axles, and thick metal bodies. My first was a JD 112 and the latest is a Roper 14 horse. Both are extremely stout.
