for some reason that does not look like a frame from a 58. no "X" under it and the "b" pillars look like they are made of steel, the 58=59 imperials are cast aluminum. Its looks more like a desoto frame to me, which are very similar. Something strange to me. is it a 60? here are some pics of a 58

any suggestions for a good cheap rear end for the 58 impy? i am looking at a 14 bolt out of a 80s c-20. it has 4.56 gears in it. looks like from what i can find online the track width of those trucks is about 1/2" wider than the 57-59 impy's. i dont think my 10 bolt from a cadillac seville will be wide enough. would the 14 bolt truck rear end work ok? are they strong? will ss's fit once i weld in a new center, or will they not clear the drums??

whats a good back bumper height? my 58 will be flat leafed with hump plates. will probably strap the trunk lid on it as is, and crease the hell out of the back end. there is no minimum/maximum rear bumper height rule. the front bumper can be 22" to the bottom... i am thinking i'd be best off getting the ass LOW, as most of the fomocos will be. i plan on driving forward all night...whats yalls opinion?
