Never built anything but old iron gms……just built my first ford this year and it was ok. Just curious to everyone’s opinion on how the fronts of metrics hold up compared to 71-76 gms (old iron Cadillacs not included). Rules typically allow 3 4x6 plates anywhere. Are they are hard as ford? Are they are good as old iron? Somewhere in between? Some guys like them, I'm not one of them guys. Depends entirely on the rule set though. True chain classes they absolutely can be competitive, into the heavy weld with full protector stuff they can be competitive, it seems that middle ground which is alot of rules now a days, I would much rather have a Ford or old iron. Fords and old iron GMs are good cars, have 2 good ends on them, are very predictable, and are quick to put together.

So I read this whole thread gonna be running a 1988 caprice in stock show can't do much for are rules, but can change bumpers up front and hardnose or welds to brackets weld brackets to frame My question is what bumpers would be best I have 2 options the original bumper or a pre used Chrysler pointy, is the pointy gonna be to heavy of a bumper for this metric.
