whatever holds the frame rails together since thats about all its there for unless its plated or leafed then u can actually run something worth a damn otherwise if its for a more "stock" class just something to hold frame together

I run the stock bumpers on my bubbles. If you hit square they roll up at the notch well. I'm not a fan of a hard bumper on the rear of these anyway seems like it puts alot of stress on the humps. Tom

i can change out my coil springs on the rear end. i was wondering if i swaped the front springs with the back would it make the rear stiffer? or would i be better off to go find a set of real stiff coils for the rear?

If you want it stiff you could just pull the rear down and chain it

A set of front coils out of a f-150 work well in the rear of a 80s GM. Or a set from a 71-76 GM are longer then stock ones and lift up a 77+ sedan pretty well also. Tom

A set of f150 springs will also fit inside of an 80s coil too

Here is my steering solution for these. I havent run it yet, but I think its gotta work better than stock. I cut apart the stock GM steering shaft, saved the ends and the center slider section. Then I welded in two steering knuckles out of metric Lincolns, and welded the GM ends on. So now it slides, has a knuckle on each end, and is a direct bolt on for the stock GM steering column and box. Like I say, its untested, but I like it so far.

i had an idea when i was lookin at the front bumper and shocks.... i can load my bumper between the frame rails which i have done already and its pretty hard. i am going to hardnose the bumper would it help to weld the bumper shocks to the bumper then slide the shocks as far back into the frame as possible and then weld the bumper onto the front of the frame? or is this going to make it bend easier in front of the a arms?
