We are running a 97 marquis and we ran our first 98 last year and broke the tranny in a bad spot. It bent at the crush box (zbox) a buddy of ours said cut the gussets. I am not really sure what those are. I think it’s the 45 degree bar from zbox to the frame rail in the back. He said then it would bend there giving tranny more room?
We are running a stock / light build 80s class
We are not aloud to pre plate fresh cars only rust repair and bends.
So curious if people suggest running first then repairing and plating after running? Not sure where to plate or what to do.
Just wondering if anyone has had that issue or bad luck of a bend.
