Lawn Mowers
General Rules
1. Officials have final say, we reserve the right to check mower after derby.
2. Drivers must wear a helmet, pants, long sleeve shirt, and eye protection when entering the track and during the derby.
3. No direct hits to the driver’s area
4. If you are rolled over, the heat will be stopped and your lawnmower will be placed back on its wheels and you will be eliminated.
5. During the competition you must initiate contact within 1 minute. If at any time you cannot make contact within the time limit you will be disqualified.
6. All motion to be halted upon signal from referees in case of fire, injury and other emergencies
7. No hits when opponent is out of bounds
8. No pit racing
Lawn Mower
NO JD 240,260,265,314 or any lawn tractor
Cage
You are allowed up to 2x2 3/16 thick material. Cage can connect to frame in 2 spots only and connection points can’t be any further than in front of the footboards. No belly bars. You are allowed one bar to go behind the seat and ⅛” sheet metal on the sides. No mod or ss style cages
Bumpers
Bumper must not be any bigger than 2x6 ¼ thick tubing. You are allowed a 4” pointy meaning 4” from the face of the bumper to the tip of the point, no exceptions. You are allowed 4” bumper shocks using 2x2 square tubing. No rear bumpers
Frame
No plates or welding allowed other than stated. You are allowed a 2x2 plate no thicker than 3/16 to go above the front axle to keep it from twisting. You can have a 10x10 ⅛” motor plate but can only be held on with the motor mount bolts and 4 ⅜ grade 8 bolts in addition no welding the motor plates. If mower is pre ran and you have proof of it being bent you can have 2–2x2 patch plates not thicker than ⅛”
All Thread
You are allowed 2 pieces of ⅝ all thread to run through the front of the frame and through the hood. No sleeving or plating it.
Body
You are allowed to crease fenders and hoods. No adding metal, only seam welding is allowed. Mower must have stock fenders.
Motors
You are allowed a motor no bigger than 25hp. The header must either point up or down and no engine cradles
Wheels
No bead locks. You are allowed a bead stiffener ring on the outside of the wheel and tires of choice. Wheels must be no bigger than 12”
Axles
Must use factory axle mounts. No axle braces or axle savers. Aftermarket shifters are ok. No 1” axles or 5 lug axles.
Safety
Batteries and gas tanks must be secured safely. No zip ties or duct tape. Helmet is mandatory and close toed shoes.
