Derby and similar V8 cars for sound recordings?

Hi, bit of a longshot here: Would there be any car owners on WeCrash who might be interested in having the engine of their demo derby car recorded for a video game? At the moment, I'm specifically looking for:

• Naturally aspirated derby V8 with straight-through headers running through the hood, or
• Similar displacement V8 with short straight-through headers (hotrods with split L/R on sides of car are fine too)
• Car located in southeast Florida, within reasonable transporting distance from Bradenton Motorsports Park
• Owners who are ok with driving (or having the car driven) in specific ways needed to capture engine behaviour like redlining

I would also appreciate any owner contacts / introductions if anyone has any. Please pm those my way. I can try answer questions at very general / high-level here

Reach out to cleetus McFarland.. his corn cob duster with a small block w2 headed mopar or his crown vic with headers thru the hood both of them cars sound unreal and he isnt scared to put them on the limiter

Thanks that's a neat tip! I'm well familiar with Cleetus' videos, but didn't realize he's from FL!

His shop is a mile from Bradenton motor sports park. plus you know he would be happy to help

His shop is literally a few hundred feet from the park, and his track(the freedom factory) butts up against it on the opposite side of the dragstrip.

The "convertible" crown vic with the godzilla engine would be your closest comparison

sprint car on a 1/2 mile track, 140+mph driveby. late models dont rev like a sprint, but have a deeper rumble.

Yep the Corn Cob and others do sound great - I've sent email to a couple of Cleetus' addresses I found but to no avail, hoping to hear back. Can imagine he might be too busy with all the on-going work. Just recently read about the possibility of him having to shut down Freedom Factory for the housing plans.

Anyway, if anyone can suggest email addresses other than those publicly available to try reach him, please pm any over.

We're looking to record runs on a straight road, as video game use requires steady acceleration & deceleration ramps of the engine under load. Freedom Factory maybe also too an echo-y environment. Plenty of tire & wind noise readily on-board a moving car to deal with..

I would think his website might be a good place to try if you havent yet? Should be able to inquire on there somewhere, or kyle from 1320video may be able to put you in touch if he can confirm your legitimacy.
