2023 10k Limited Weld Warren Country Throwdown Rules
Car preparations.
1. Any year car permitted except for the following no full frame chrysler imperials,hearse, or limos will be permitted to run
2. Cars Must be complete stripped clean no trim interior or any other flammable materials must be removed prior to the show
3. All glass must be removed and swept clean
4. Original full tanks must be removed and placed in back seat area
5. All batteries must be moved in the drivers compartment ( 2 battery maximum)
6. Car must have a seat belt and working brakes at all times
7. You will have two times threw tech if on your second attempt you did not meet satisfaction to what the inspectors wanted you will be loaded and no refund will be issued ( as our job of inspectors we will make sure it is clear and understandable of what we want done so there shouldn’t be any questions or miss understanding)
8. If you do not have your inspection paper we will tech your car as its never been threw
9. Drivers only in tech no one else is allowed ( we will give you a piece of paper with everything written down for you to take back with you to show your crew) must have paper with you for re tech
10. All rules are to the interpretation to the officials ( if unsure of a rules call or text to get clarification so you understand what we want)
11. All judge’s decision are final
Frame
1. Absolutely no welding on frames are permitted unless it states otherwise in rules
2. Top frame seams may be welded from fire wall forward
3. Subframe imperials or cars with imperial subframes may not weld the k frame to the sub
4. no a arm brackets or other brackets may be welded only the main seam
5. You may tilt cars in one spot and one direction only must weld back with no metal added and no welds can be wider then ½ in
6. If frame is rusted you may fix it with in following guidelines must prove rust must cut out bad sections and but weld a new piece back in no overlapping the metals can use nothing larger than ⅛ thick material and must be flat bar
7. All fresh cars you are allowed 4- 4x4 ¼ square plates (2 per rail) to weld anywhere you want but must follow these guidelines you must have 1in gap between the welds ,welds around the plate is ⅜ max and plates are to be 1in away from bumper shock ( if welds are thicker than ⅜ wide you cut plate completely off)
8. If your car is pre ran you are allowed 8- 4x4 ¼ square plates and must follow same guidelines as above
9. No fix it plates are allowed to attach to any motor or transmission part ( cradle, mid plate,bell housing, etc )
10. No fix it plate can act like a kicker or attach body to frame
11. If your car needs a new front stub you must do it at your tilt with no added metal only unless it's one of your plates your allowed ( you can not swap frame stubs must be Ford to Ford Chevy to Chevy etc you also may not put a newer stub on a older rear or vice versa)
12. No frame shaping permitted( there is no way of fixing this so don’t do it )
13. Front frame horns may be shortened to the front of the core support mount if the mount is a weld on mount it may not be removed or re welded must see welds from factory
14. No welding of washers over the body holes on the frame
15. You may run a double strand of nine wire around the frame in one spot only behind rear axles if you choose to use chain instead ⅜ maximum size and must be wrapped around frame no welding permitted links must remain free floating you can not do both and this is the only location allowed
16. Frames may be dimpled or notched if notched the frame is not to be welded back shut
17. Sway bar must be mounted in factory mounts you may bolt to the lower control arm w a max ⅜ bolt can not be welded to frame in any shape or form
18. You will be allowed a 6”x22”x1/4” hump plate if running a 77 and newer gm metrics hump plate may be 6” x 32”x ¼” if your car is factory leaf sprung you may have a 6”x11”x1/4” hump plateMay contour to the frame or run straight across
19. Frames in the rear may be no lower than 14in
Body
1. Body bolts may be changed to ⅝ bolts must have a 1 inch gap between body and frame body bolt may only travel through one layer of the frame and can only use a 4x4 washer on inside of the body and 3x3 on the inside of frame no welding of washers must be free floating ( no adding body bolts factory locations unless otherwise stated)
2. Subframe cars must follow the same body bolt rules stated above
3. You may weld drivers door solid and may be the only door plated ⅛ thick material all other door may be wired chained or welded if welded you may use 3x3 plate ⅛ 5in on 5 in off ( weld a plate skip 5 in weld other plate ) if you choose to wire or chain you can 9 wire bottom of doors In 2 spots only and may go around frame (this is to only help to hold door shut abuse it and u will cut it out)
4. If using wire you may weld a standard ¾ washer around holes to prevent the sheet metal tearing
5. Hoods must remain open for tech, may be wired, chained (⅜ max) or bolted in 6 spots only if u decided to run all thread threw the core support that will count as 2 of your hold downs if using bolts only a 6 in long piece of 2x2 angle welded to hood and fender with one ½ bolt max ran thru the angel hood washers for the front no bigger than 4x4 ¼, if using wire or chain May have a standard ¾ washer welded to fender and hood for it to pass thru
6. Hoods must have some kind of hole big enough for fire extinguisher can fit may bolt back w total of 8 ⅜ bolts
7. Rear decking must be removed from rear of wagons and roof racks must be removed
8. Trunks/ tail gates may be chained wired or welded if welding 3x3 plate ⅛ using the 5 on 5 off method
9. Trunks / tailgates may be dished or tucked must remain 10in off the floor from top of rails if dishing if tucked you are not allowed to attach it to the floor in any way
10. You may run 2 pieces of all thread from frame threw top of deck lid ( 1 per rail)
11. Must have two 5x5 holes in trunk lid above the frame rails ( make sure you have these holes prior to tech because if you dont we will not inspect your car you will be sent back to cut holes and put at the back of the line)
12. may have total of 8 ⅜ bolts between the two spots ( 4 per hole)
13. Tops of doors may be beat down and welded with a 3 x 3 ⅛ strap ( where the window comes thru)
14. Cars may be creased Rear Quarters must remain in upright position ( no wedge cars allowed and no sedagon)
15. Body patching will be limited to floors and roofs must be done with same thickness of metal can only overlap 1in past whole and must prove rust ( with a picture prior to the show) all other areas will need to be approved before doing so
16. If car is pre ran you may plate over ripped sheet metal on doors and doors only
17. Core support spacers may only be 2x2 tubing and can not be welded to frame or core support must remain under core support
18. Nothing may be ran from core support spacer to bumper
19. All thread allowed thru core support is 1in max
20. Only 3 ⅜ bolts with stander washer may be put in to each wheel well
21. One Front and one rear window bars are allowed 2x2 max tube or 3in ⅜ plate allowed one in front one in the rear can only be attached to the first 6in of the roof/ trunk lid these bars / plates must remain 4 in away from halo bar and 6 in away from gas tanks protector no rear window bars on wagons
22. Firewalls may be cut for distributor clearance but if u cut the upper half out nothing may be put back in its place
Suspension
1. Factory car spindles only (no aftermarket spindles no gm lift spindles) may switch models gm to ford ford to mopar you get the point
2. No aftermarket springs allowed
3. Nothing is permitted to be on top of the spring inside of the frame
4. You may use a weld in style ball joint it must have limited fabrication done (don’t get crazy with a welder and you won’t have to get crazy w cutting)
5. No ball joint protector
6. Steering box adapter plates will be allowed but must be bolted to frame as factory would be no welding
7. May use aftermarket steering columns
8. Aftermarket tie rods will be allowed if running a heim joint end max bolt size is 1/2in
9. You may lock front suspension one way and one way only is by welding a 2x4 ¼ plate to the front and back side of the a arm w a max of ⅜ bead of weld around plate can not contour a arm to frame away
10. Nothing can be welded from lower a arm to frame
11. No welding permitted on torsion bars must remain factory
12. You may run 1in all thread in place of the shock 3in washer max non welded no nuts or washers allowed inside of coil pocket one nut and washer on top and same on bottom
13. You may run any 5 or 8 lug rear it may be braced w with pinion brake can not be attached to frame other then where factory intended you may have solid suspension in the rear and May use all thread shocks in rear car does not have to bounce
14. no coil to leaf conversion
15. Factory leaf spring cars must REMAIN FACTORY SPRINGS WITH A FACTORY STAIR STEP OF 2” STAIR STEP MEASURED FROM THE FRONT SIDE OF SPRING EYELET . IN FACTORY POSITION May have 4 total clamps on each leaf ( 2in wide 4 in long 5/16 bolt do not put tape around leafs)
16. You may wire or weld your coil springs to rear do not weld springs to frame in anyway
17. Watts kit are allowed must be two separate mounting brackets and have a 6 in gap between the two and can not come in contact with side rails in side of humps lower bracket can only be 3x6 in size and 4 inches long
18. Must remove any unused brackets
19. You can not relocate factory brackets must be where factory intended
20. Aftermarket/homemade trailing arms may be made out of 2x2 ¼ in size (this size is for lower and upper trailing arms) if you choose to use factory arms they may be braced
21. 03 and newer cars must use the factory aluminum Cradle and steering rack you may use older style spindles and a arms
22. On cars with the wishbone style a arms may be replaced with older style a arms must be as factory intended you are not allowed to weld a bar between the a arms
23. Any tires will be permitted black and round
24. You may have full center rims and a valve stem protector, lip guards and bead locks
Bumpers
1. Any car bumpers will be allowed may be loaded you may choose to fabricate your own bumper must be in following guidelines 8x8 tube u may have a point must expand over minimum 32 in of front and can only stick out 4 in from front edge of the tube ( so from the point to back of bumper has to be 12 inches in total length)
2. Factory replica bumpers will be allowed
3. Rear bumpers may be loaded smw or dec or a standard 4x41/4 tube may be used bumpers no sharp ends or points no pointy bumpers on rear of cars
4. Front Bumpers may be welded on but may only use one of the two following options. Option number 1 use the factory bracket option number 2 you may hard nose your bumper and run a 4 in wide ⅜ thick 12in long bumper shock welded to one side of the frame only can only have ⅜ bead of weld around outside surface ( 12in means 12in from back of the bumper so anything pass that 12 in mark will be completely removed and remember your 4x4 ¼ plate have to remain 1 in away from bumper shock)
5. You may have a 14in rear bumper shock ⅜ thick anything past 14 in will be removed ( factory shock or not)
6. Front bumper may be no higher than 22in to bottom of bumper and rear bumper may be no lower than 14in
7. You may 9 wire two spots from core support to front bumper may not go around hood core support only 2 strands maximum no 9 wire from trunk to rear bumper
Cage
1. A 4 point cage and halo bar is highly recommend
2. Cage can be inside doors or on inside driver's compartment
3. your dash bar must be 5 in off the firewall and 5 in off the trans tunnel your rear seat bar may not be any farther back then where the rear kick panel meets the floor (where the front of the back seat would be located)
4. May have a center bar must be 5in off all parts of the floor sheet metal
5. You will be allowed 4 down bars must be at a 90 degree angle can be no further forward than the firewall and can not be pass front 4 body bolts and no farther back than front of the the rear hump
6. Down bars can only be 4x4 ¼ tube max
7. Hallo bars are allowed must be straight up and down and connect to rear seat or side bars it also may be connected to the roof in two locations only with 3 in long 2x2 angel with a ½ in bolt maximum
8. You will be allowed a gas tank protector 32in wide maximum it will be allowed to touch the package tray only can be bolted or welded if you build a halo over the back half of your tank it can not be attached to roof or speaker deck
9. If your car don’t have a package tray it can not go past center of a rear axle
10. You can have guessests in corners of the cage 6in long max
Engine /trans
1. You may run any motor or transmission combination
2. Oil pans may be plated may not be any bigger than the oil pan itself and can not attach to any parts of the engine crossmember or transmission crossmember at any time
3. Lower Cradle and pulley protector is permitted may have a front plate but may only be mounted to the motor mounts
4. You may run a carb protector but may not go back past headers this is simply to protect carb abuse this and you will lose it
5. Header protectors are allowed
6. Motor mounts must have some type of rubber bushing for example jeffy's fab farm mount
7. Absolutely nothing is allowed between firewall and engine no distributor protectors no coil pack protectors no spark plug wire protectors nothing is allowed
8. You may have a mid plate but can not be no higher than the heads on motor or lower than your transmission or wider than the transmission and can not be attached to anything but motor and transmission
9. On 03 and newer cars you will be allowed to run the smw, gray area, cat skill, and buddie cradles must bolt no welding cradles to side rails
10. A skid plate may be weld to bottom of trans pan but may not be any wider than the pan itself and can not touch the crossmember
11. You will be allowed to run a aluminum ultra bell or standard steal will be allowed
12. You may also run an aftermarket tail shaft steel or aluminum
13. No transmission braces
14. Slider driveshafts are allowed
15. aftermarket shifters are allowed
16. Transmission mounts must be some type of rubber mount no solid mounts you may chain trans also to crossmember only
17. Transmission crossmember must run straight across and mount in factory location on trans you can either use the factory crossmember or a piece of 2x2 ¼ can only be attached to side rails and only attached to the angle or factory mounts
18. Angles for crossmember mounts can only be 2x2 ¼ and 6 in long if using the replacement mounts factory mount must be removed
19. Transmission and oil coolers are permitted but must be mounted in drivers compartment and must use appropriate lines ( hydraulic hoses are highly recommended)
20. Any metal fuel cells permitted or boat tanks if its a plastic tank it must be in some type of metal structure (we all have families that need us this rule is the most important and will be enforced no matter the outcome )
21. All fuel lines need to be doubled clamped
22. If transmission tunnel is cut out it must be covered by some kind of metal material
23. May have two engine chains one on each side of the motor may weld two links to frame or engine crossmember must be free floating ⅜ chain max

2. Oil pans may be plated may not be any bigger than the oil pan itself and can not attach to any parts of the engine crossmember or transmission crossmember at any time
3. Lower Cradle and pulley protector is permitted may have a front plate but may only be mounted to the motor mounts
4. You may run a carb protector but may not go back past headers this is simply to protect carb abuse this and you will lose it
5. Header protectors are allowed
6. Motor mounts must have some type of rubber bushing for example jeffy's fab farm mount
7. Absolutely nothing is allowed between firewall and engine no distributor protectors no coil pack protectors no spark plug wire protectors nothing is allowed
8. You may have a mid plate but can not be no higher than the heads on motor or lower than your transmission or wider than the transmission and can not be attached to anything but motor and transmission
9. On 03 and newer cars you will be allowed to run the smw, gray area, cat skill, and buddie cradles must bolt no welding cradles to side rails
10. A skid plate may be weld to bottom of trans pan but may not be any wider than the pan itself and can not touch the crossmember
11. You will be allowed to run a aluminum ultra bell or standard steal will be allowed
12. You may also run an aftermarket tail shaft steel or aluminum
13. No transmission braces
14. Slider driveshafts are allowed
15. aftermarket shifters are allowed
16. Transmission mounts must be some type of rubber mount no solid mounts you may chain trans also to crossmember only
17. Transmission crossmember must run straight across and mount in factory location on trans you can either use the factory crossmember or a piece of 2x2 ¼ can only be attached to side rails and only attached to the angle or factory mounts
18. Angles for crossmember mounts can only be 2x2 ¼ and 6 in long if using the replacement mounts factory mount must be removed
19. Transmission and oil coolers are permitted but must be mounted in drivers compartment and must use appropriate lines ( hydraulic hoses are highly recommended)
20. Any metal fuel cells permitted or boat tanks if its a plastic tank it must be in some type of metal structure (we all have families that need us this rule is the most important and will be enforced no matter the outcome )
21. All fuel lines need to be doubled clamped
22. If transmission tunnel is cut out it must be covered by some kind of metal material
23. May have two engine chains one on each side of the motor may weld two links to frame or engine crossmember must be free floating ⅜ chain max
