Warren County Full Size Throwdown Rules
Car preparations.
1. Any year car permitted except for the following no Chrysler imperials (full framers or subframes and no you can not put a imp sub under other Chrysler’s products ) no 61-69 Lincoln’s, hearse, or limos will be permitted to run
2. Cars Must be complete stripped clean no trim interior or any other flammable materials must be removed prior to the show
3. All glass must be removed and swept clean
4. Original full tanks must be removed and placed in back seat area
5. All batteries must be moved in the drivers compartment ( 2 battery maximum)
6. Car must have a seat belt and working brakes at all times
7. You will have two times threw tech if on your second attempt you did not meet satisfaction to what the inspectors wanted you will be loaded and no refund will be issued ( as our job of inspections we will make sure it is clear and understandable of what we want done so there shouldn’t be any questions or miss understanding)
8. We will be teaching cars Friday May 6th 4-8 pm and tech will Start Saturday morning at 8am
9. All cars must be threw first round inspection by 3:00 pm no exceptions
10. Inspection will close at 5:00 no exceptions ( so if you plan to weld a lot then and go over the rules be sure you plan to tech early be responsible)
11. Cars that pass Friday night will be impounded until 8 am Saturday after they are released they will go straight to the line up ( if you fail to do so you will be required to go threw tech all over)
12. Drivers only in tech no one else is allowed ( we will give you a piece of paper with everything written down for you to take back with you to show your crew) must have paper with you for re tech
13. After your heat if you make it to finals or consi you will be allowed 9 wire only to fix your cars only thing that can be welded back on is your bumper if it falls off
14. All rules are to the interpretation to the officials ( if unsure of a rules call or text to get clarification so you understand what we want)
15. All judge’s decision are final
Frame
1. Absolutely no welding on frames are permitted unless it states otherwise in rules
2. No seams may be welded
3. You may tilt cars in one spot and one direction only must weld back with no metal added and no welds can be wider then ½ in
4. no closing in of the y on Chrysler or Cadillac products
5. If frame is rusted you may fix it with in following guidelines must prove rust must cut out bad sections and but weld a new piece back in no overlapping the metals can use nothing larger than ⅛ thick material and must be flat bar and have a ¼ in drilled hole to prove thickness
6. All cars may have this (fresh or pre ran) you are allowed 4- 4x4 ¼ plates (2 per rail) to weld anywhere you want but must follow these guidelines you must have 2in gap between the welds ,welds around the plate is ⅜ max and plates are to be 6in away from bumper shock and 2in away from a arm straps and must have a ½ in whole in center non welded to check thickness also have to remain flat no shaping of plates if you cut your plate throw the half you don’t use away 4 means 4 in any language must be painted white to show location ( if welds are thicker than ⅜ wide you cut plate completely off if thicker than ¼ plate you will cut plate completely off so don’t abuse this)
7. If your car is pre ran you will not be given any extra plates so use the 4 given wisely
8. If your car needs a new front stub you must do it at your tilt ( you can not swap frame stubs must be ford to Ford Chevy to Chevy etc you also may not put a newer stub on a older rear or vice versa
9. No frame shaping or beating in of the humps will be permitted( there is no way of fixing this so don’t do it )
10. Front frame horns may be shortened to the front of the core support mount if the mount is a weld on mount it may not be removed or re welded must see welds from factory
11. No welding of washers over the body holes on the frame
12. You may run a double strand of nine wire around the frame in one spot only behind rear axles if you choose to use chain instead ⅜ maximum size and must be wrapped around frame no welding permitted links must remain free floating you can not do both and this is the only location allowed
13. No removing or welding the tower on cars that have this mainly on 92-02 vics Lincoln’s or Mercury’s ( this is between the a arm bolts)
14. Frames may be dimpled or notched if notched the frame is not to be welded back shut
15. Sway bar must be mounted in factory mounts you may bolt to the lower control arm w a max ⅜ bolt ( bolt weld the bar and then put rubber,mount back over top of it)
16. No hump plates ( if your pre ran and have hump plates you must remove completely yes understand that u may cut frame but you will remove as much weld and plate as possible)
17. Frames in the rear may be no lower than 14in
18. No witching package trays allowed must run factory package tray that came with you car
Body
1. Body bolts may be changed to ⅝ bolts must have a 1 inch gap between body and frame body bolt may only travel through one layer of the frame and can only use a 4x4 washer on inside of the body and 3x3 on the inside of frame no welding of washers must be free floating ( no adding body bolts factory locations only)
2. Don’t weld body spacers to frame must be free floating
3. You may weld drivers door solid and may be the only door plated ⅛ thick material all other door may be wired chained or welded if welded you may use 3x3 plate ⅛ 5in on 5 in off ( weld a plate skip 5 in weld other plate ) if you choose to wire or chain you can 9 wire bottom of doors In 2 spots only and may go around frame (this is to only help to hold door shut abuse it and u will cut it out)
4. If using wire you may weld a standard ¾ washer around holes to prevent the sheet metal tearing
5. Hoods must remain open for tech, may be wired, chained (⅜ max) or bolted in 6 spots only if u decided to run all thread threw the core support that will count as 2 of your hold downs if using bolts only a 3 in long piece of 2x2 angle welded to hood and fender with one ½ bolt max ran thru the angel hood washers for the front no bigger than 4x4 ¼, if using wire or chain May have a standard ¾ washer welded to fender and hood for it to pass thru
6. Hoods must have some kind of hole big enough for fire extinguisher can fit may bolt back w total of 8 ⅜ bolts
7. Rear decking must be removed from rear of wagons and roof racks must be removed
8. Trunks/ tail gates may be chained wired or welded if welding 3x3 plate ⅛ using the 5 on 5 off method
9. Trunks / tailgates may be dished or tucked must remain 10in off the floor from top of rails if dishing if tucked you are not allowed to attach it to the floor in any way speaker deck must remain in tack and in place may be pushed down but must remain 5 in off the floor
10. no all thread may run thru trunk
11. Must have two 5x5 holes in trunk above the frame rails ( make sure you have these holes prior to tech because if you dont we will not inspect your car you will be sent back to cut holes and put at the back of the line)
12. may have total of 8 ⅜ bolts between the two spots ( 4 per hole)
13. Tops of doors may be beat down only top of drivers door is only one permitted to be welded ( where the window comes thru)
14. Cars may be creased Rear Quarters must remain factory height ( no wedge cars allowed and no sedagon)
15. Body patching will be limited to floors and roofs must be done with same thickness of metal can only overlap 1in past whole and must prove rust ( with a picture prior to the show) all other areas will need to be approved before doing so
16. Core support spacers may only be 6in in length and no bigger than 2x2 tubing and can not be welded to frame or core support must remain under core support
17. Nothing may be ran from core support spacer to bumper
18. All thread allowed thru core support is 1in max
19. Only 3 ⅜ bolts with stander washer may be put in to each wheel well
20. One Front and one rear window bars are allowed 2x2 max tube or 3in ⅜ plate allowed one in front one in the rear can only be attached to the first 6in of the roof/ trunk lid these bars / plates must remain 4 in away from halo bar and 6 in away from gas tanks protector no rear window bars on wagons
21. No 9 wire ,chain or cable will be allowed to run threw the body to frame at any time may not connect to crossmember or any body bolts or cage unless otherwise stated
22. Firewalls may be cut for distributor clearance but if u cut the upper half out nothing may be put back in its place
Suspension
1. Must be all factory components no aftermarket spindles or ball joints must be all OEM parts if using a weld in style ball joint it must have limited fabrication done (don’t get crazy with a welder and you won’t have to get crazy w cutting)
2. No aftermarket springs no truck springs
3. No ball joint protector
4. May use aftermarket steering columns
5. Aftermarket tie rods will be allowed if running a heim joint end max bolt size is 1/2in
6. You may lock front suspension one way and one way only is by welding a 2x4 ¼ plate to the side of the a arm w a max of ⅜ bead of weld around plate can not contour a arm to frame plate may not be any farther away then 2 in away from a arm this is only way your allowed to lock your front suspension (if anything thing else is welded or used that was not approved prior to show you will run with working suspension)
7. You may run 1in all thread in place of the shock 3in washer max non welded no nuts or washers allowed inside of coil pocket one nut and washer on top and same on bottom
8. You may run any 5 lug rear it may be braced w with pinion brake can not be attached to frame other then where factory intended you may have solid suspension in the rear and May use all thread shocks in rear car does not have to bounce
9. no coil to leaf conversion
10. Factory leaf spring cars with factory leafs may have 4 total clamps on each leaf ( 2in wide 4 in long 5/16 bolt do not put tape around leafs)
11. You may wire or weld your coil springs to rear do not weld springs to frame in anyway
12. No hump plates allowed
13. Watts kit are allowed must be two separate mounting brackets and have a 6 in gap between the two and can not come in contact with side rails in side of humps lower bracket can only be 3x6 in size and 4 inches long
14. Aftermarket/homemade trailing arms may be made out of 2x2 ¼ in size (this size is for lower and upper trailing arms) if you choose to use factory arms they may be braced
15. 03 and newer cars must use the factory aluminum Cradle and steering rack you may use older style spindles and a arms
16. On cars with the wishbone style a arms may be replaced with older style a arms must be as factory intended you are not allowed to weld a bar between the a arms
17. Any tires will be permitted black and round
18. You may have full center rims and a valve stem protector, lip guard protector can only be 1in wide will be allowed (no bead locks will be permitted)
19. No solid wheels may be ran
Bumpers
1. Any car bumpers will be allowed may be loaded you may choose to fabricate your own bumper must be in following guidelines 6x6 tube u may have a point must expand over 32 in of front and can only stick out 4 in from front edge of the tube ( so from the point to back of bumper has to be 10 inches in total length)
2. Factory replica bumpers will be allowed
3. Rear bumpers must remain factory you may seam weld bumpers but no metal may be added (smw or dec or a standard 4x41/4 tube may be used bumpers may be used but must be open on both ends no capping ends)
4. Front Bumpers may be welded on but may only use one of the three following options. Option number 1 use the factory bracket that came with your car option number 2 is remove bumper shock completely and weld bumper straight to the frame along w this option you may weld a 6x6 plate to end of the frame to create a flat mounting surface option number 3 you may hard nose your bumper and run a 4x4 ⅜ flat plate ( notice flat no teepee plates angel plates flat only) 12in long bumper shock welded to the side of the frame facing towards tire and can only have ⅜ bead of weld around outside surface ( 12in means 12in from back of the bumper so anything pass that 12 in mark will be completely removed and remember your 4x4 ¼ plate have to remain 6 in away from bumper shock)
5. No interchanging bumper shock Chrysler to Chrysler Chevy to Chevy etc
6. Rear bumpers may be welded on and also may be angled mounting brackets must be with in first 4 in of rear rails (so from end of the rail in 4 inches) nothing thicker than ¼
7. If using factory shock it can only be welded or bolted with in the first 4 inches
8. Front bumper may be no higher than 22in to bottom of bumper and rear bumper may be no lower than 14in
9. You may 9 wire two spots from core support to front bumper may not go around hood core support only 2 strands maximum no 9 wire from trunk to rear bumper
Cage
1. A 4 point cage and halo bar is highly recommend
2. Your two side bars may be no longer than 60 inch in length ( 2 door cars may have 65in door bars) your dash bar must be 5 in off the firewall and 5 in off the trans tunnel your rear seat bar may not be any farther back then where the rear kick panel meets the floor (where the front of the back seat would be located)
3. May have a center bar must be 5in off all parts of the floor sheet metal
4. NO DOWN BARS will be allowed no not even the ones that only weld to the sheet metal ( only a 2x2 ¼ down bar may be ran on drivers door must be centered in sidebar and may only weld to sheet metal only)
5. Hallo bars are allowed must be straight up and down and connect to rear seat or side bars it also may be connected to the roof in two locations only with 3 in long 2x2 angel with a ½ in bolt maximum
6. You will be allowed a gas tank protector 32in wide maximum it will be allowed to touch the package tray only can not be bolted or welded if you build a halo over the back half of your tank it can not be attached to roof or speaker deck( if found u will be required to make a 2in gap in between the bar and package tray and don’t try and sneak it threw ur watts kits bolts)
7. You can have guessests in corners of the cage; you can not run bars from your halo to the gas tank protector.
Engine /trans
1. You may run any motor or trans combination
2. Oil pans may be plated may not be any bigger than the oil pan itself and can not attach to any parts of the engine crossmember or trans at any time
3. Lower Cradle and pulley protector is permitted may have a front plate but may only be mounted to the motor mounts
4. If running a pulley protector you are required to have a 2in gap between the sway bar and protector ( if closer than 2in you have to options remove sway bar or pulley protector)
5. Absolutely nothing is allowed between firewall and engine no distributor protectors no coil pack protectors nothing but air is allowed
6. No mid plates allowed
7. On 03 and newer cars you will be allowed to run the smw, grey area, cat skill bolt on Cradle so u can put your motors in ( notice it says bolt on absolutely no welding the piece to the side rails at all)
8. A skid plate may be weld to bottom of trans pan but may not be any wider than the pan itself and can not touch the crossmember
9. No trans braces will be allowed no steel bells no steel tails
10. You will be allowed to run a aluminum ultra bell
11. Slider driveshafts are allowed aftermarket shifters are allowed
12. Trans mounts may be solid you may chain trans also to crossmember only
13. Trans crossmember must run straight across and mount in factory location on trans you can either use the factory crossmember or a piece of 2x2 ¼ can only be attached to side rails and only attached to the angle or factory mounts ( do not attach the crossmember to the fingers that come off boxes on Cadillacs)
14. Angles for crossmember mounts can only be 2x2 ¼ and 6 in long if using the replacement mounts factory mount must be removed
15. Trans and oil coolers are permitted but must be mounted in drivers compartment and must use appropriate lines ( hydraulic hoses are highly recommended)
16. Absolutely no plastic, Jerry can, or factory fuel cells will be allowed to run (we all have families that need us this rule is the most important and will be enforced no matter the outcome )
17. All fuel lines need to be doubled clamped
18. If trans tunnel is cut out it must be covered by some kind of metal material
19. May have two engine chains one on each side of the motor may only weld to engine crossmember not to side rails only one link may be weld all others must be free floating ⅜ chain max

4. Front Bumpers may be welded on but may only use one of the three following options. Option number 1 use the factory bracket that came with your car option number 2 is remove bumper shock completely and weld bumper straight to the frame along w this option you may weld a 6x6 plate to end of the frame to create a flat mounting surface option number 3 you may hard nose your bumper and run a 4x4 ⅜ flat plate ( notice flat no teepee plates angel plates flat only) 12in long bumper shock welded to the side of the frame facing towards tire and can only have ⅜ bead of weld around outside surface ( 12in means 12in from back of the bumper so anything pass that 12 in mark will be completely removed and remember your 4x4 ¼ plate have to remain 6 in away from bumper shock)
5. No interchanging bumper shock Chrysler to Chrysler Chevy to Chevy etc
6. Rear bumpers may be welded on and also may be angled mounting brackets must be with in first 4 in of rear rails (so from end of the rail in 4 inches) nothing thicker than ¼
7. If using factory shock it can only be welded or bolted with in the first 4 inches
8. Front bumper may be no higher than 22in to bottom of bumper and rear bumper may be no lower than 14in
9. You may 9 wire two spots from core support to front bumper may not go around hood core support only 2 strands maximum no 9 wire from trunk to rear bumper
Cage
1. A 4 point cage and halo bar is highly recommend
2. Your two side bars may be no longer than 60 inch in length ( 2 door cars may have 65in door bars) your dash bar must be 5 in off the firewall and 5 in off the trans tunnel your rear seat bar may not be any farther back then where the rear kick panel meets the floor (where the front of the back seat would be located)
3. May have a center bar must be 5in off all parts of the floor sheet metal
4. NO DOWN BARS will be allowed no not even the ones that only weld to the sheet metal ( only a 2x2 ¼ down bar may be ran on drivers door must be centered in sidebar and may only weld to sheet metal only)
5. Hallo bars are allowed must be straight up and down and connect to rear seat or side bars it also may be connected to the roof in two locations only with 3 in long 2x2 angel with a ½ in bolt maximum
6. You will be allowed a gas tank protector 32in wide maximum it will be allowed to touch the package tray only can not be bolted or welded if you build a halo over the back half of your tank it can not be attached to roof or speaker deck( if found u will be required to make a 2in gap in between the bar and package tray and don’t try and sneak it threw ur watts kits bolts)
7. You can have guessests in corners of the cage; you can not run bars from your halo to the gas tank protector.
Engine /trans
1. You may run any motor or trans combination
2. Oil pans may be plated may not be any bigger than the oil pan itself and can not attach to any parts of the engine crossmember or trans at any time
3. Lower Cradle and pulley protector is permitted may have a front plate but may only be mounted to the motor mounts
4. If running a pulley protector you are required to have a 2in gap between the sway bar and protector ( if closer than 2in you have to options remove sway bar or pulley protector)
5. Absolutely nothing is allowed between firewall and engine no distributor protectors no coil pack protectors nothing but air is allowed
6. No mid plates allowed
7. On 03 and newer cars you will be allowed to run the smw, grey area, cat skill bolt on Cradle so u can put your motors in ( notice it says bolt on absolutely no welding the piece to the side rails at all)
8. A skid plate may be weld to bottom of trans pan but may not be any wider than the pan itself and can not touch the crossmember
9. No trans braces will be allowed no steel bells no steel tails
10. You will be allowed to run a aluminum ultra bell
11. Slider driveshafts are allowed aftermarket shifters are allowed
12. Trans mounts may be solid you may chain trans also to crossmember only
13. Trans crossmember must run straight across and mount in factory location on trans you can either use the factory crossmember or a piece of 2x2 ¼ can only be attached to side rails and only attached to the angle or factory mounts ( do not attach the crossmember to the fingers that come off boxes on Cadillacs)
14. Angles for crossmember mounts can only be 2x2 ¼ and 6 in long if using the replacement mounts factory mount must be removed
15. Trans and oil coolers are permitted but must be mounted in drivers compartment and must use appropriate lines ( hydraulic hoses are highly recommended)
16. Absolutely no plastic, Jerry can, or factory fuel cells will be allowed to run (we all have families that need us this rule is the most important and will be enforced no matter the outcome )
17. All fuel lines need to be doubled clamped
18. If trans tunnel is cut out it must be covered by some kind of metal material
19. May have two engine chains one on each side of the motor may only weld to engine crossmember not to side rails only one link may be weld all others must be free floating ⅜ chain max

SUSPENSION
1. OEM suspension parts NO reinforcing or adding. NO AFTERMARKET
2. ALL CARS MUST HAVE BOUNCE FRONT AND REAR
CAGES
1. Four point cage with halo bar is recommended but
NOT mandatory
2. MUST have a bar be hide the Driver seat
3. MUST have ONE FRONT Window bar, cable, or nine wire
4. MAX width of cage bars are 4”x4” or 2”x6” door bars can not extend back more than 8” on front door seam
5. MUST be 5” from fire wall and floor
6. 24” Gas Tank Protector…… IT MAY TOUCH SPEAKER DECK BUT CAN NOT BE WELDED OR BOLTED
7. NO down legs or kickers
8. If you run a bolt in cage and it has down legs to bolt to the floor you will NOT be allowed to run that type of cage!!!!!!!
9. Back Window bar MAX 2”x2” mounted by 3” on roof and 3” on trunk lid
BODY
1. Drivers door May be welded with 4 pieces of 3”x3” door strapping
2. All other doors are to be chained or nine wired max 6 places
3. Trunk must be nine wire or chain max 6 places
4. Hood can be fasten down in 6 spots with chain, nine wire
5. Hood MUST have a 12”x12” hole
6. ONE BATTERY can be used Must be located inside the car
7. Gas tanks or Fuel cells inside the car MUST have two clamps on all fuel lines from the tank and Fuel pump
8. You may run stock tank under the car but MUST be in front of rear axle and MUST HAVE A METAL SKID PLATE ADD TO IT

TIRES & WHEELS
1. Front tires – ANY TIRE on STOCK WHEELS
2. Rear tires – Can run Solid fork lift or donuts
3. NO STUDDED TIRES
4. NO CENTERS added, or BEADLOCKS OR LIP PROTECORS
5. ALL WHEEL WEIGHTS MUCH BE REMOVED
6. You may have a Header, Shifter, Fuel Cell, Pedals, Trans Cooler
