My 62 imperial has bent a arms and has never had the height I like. Has anyone ever cut the a arm and lengthened them plating them in the process? Hoping to gain a few inches of height. If this is a dumb idea I thought about just putting on 73 riviera spindles and upper a arms but I've never done that before.

How do they mount on the top of frame? you can use flat strap and other steel and make them longer up top. Could swap and switch. Remember rear steer. If you can build tie rods. Also if any thing like my 65 i had they have goofy spot on tie rod to clear some stuff too... You must of got a rivy parts car huh. Seen the bumper on your vic too....

I ran a 73 Rivvy a few years ago and I Still have the stub firewall forward and never ran the factory bumper. I ran a 74 impala bumper on it. My 62 imperial a arms look pretty much like these ones. I maybe could just use the upper a arms too. Did you run gm spindles and a arms on yours? Thank you for any and all of your help. i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll202/smryan03/58%20imperial/Impy2.jpg

Suspension components like A Arms I usually don't like cutting, in my opinion you can't brace them back decent enough to really get the strength back with most rules.

Even if you make them longer where will spindle land. You make it go below the frame then you got height but a soon ball joint issue.

I may just notch them for the frame like stated before. Then weld a strap over top of them.

Looks like the bracket holding the a-arms are bolted...Can you unbolt them and move them up some and weld/bolt them back on? That will get ya some i'd think. I ran factory stuff up front on my imp.

Guess you could cut them loose neatly and move them out. Could gain height with shocks on top of the frame too.

Can you cut that out and weld back down on frame I am thinking about trying that exact thing. Only part that sucks is the a arms are welded down and they are touching the frame. I am wondering if I lower the a arm closer to the frame I may need to actually notch the a arm around the frame because the frame won't allow them to come down.

Or make new peace out of Square tubing and move it closer to outside of frame

Or make new peace out of Square tubing and move it closer to outside of frame I'm contemplating this for sure, I guess I need to get it in the air and stare at it and make a plan.

Yep can try cutting bracket and moving out, down snd weld it up the side of the frame rail but that is going to put all the stress in the lower ball joint so plate the lower and keep them wheels straight up and down
