Just wondering what everyone work commute is? I have a good job in the city and live 10 minutes from work currently. It’s nice but we live in the suburbs. We have been looking for some property, but anything decent with cheaper taxes is minimally 45 minutes from work.

I have drove anywhere from 10 mins to 6 hours. I have been a welder for the past 12 years and did some traveling and it sucked! The past 3 years I had a welding shop job and drove 10 mins. I now have my own property maintenance thing and drive anywhere from 5 mins to 30 mins depending on where the job is.

I do like being close to work for overtime etc. With that being said I have barely enough room to work on anything or store anything for a long period of time. Town is always on my ass and I don’t like neighbors this close...

Currently I live in town and have a 7 mile, 12-15 minute drive. I have done the 45-60 minute drive before and I hated it most days. I've been looking at purchasing a home lately and most places I've had my eye on have been 25-45 minutes from work. I would be fine with that to have at least couple acres hopefully.

I have about 30 min drive to work mostly highway. I live in country. And I like having a decent drive home so I don't come straight home pissed off from something at work and get to wine down some if its a bad day. I had a professor tell me us once that he lives right around the corner and he gets home in like 5 mins and sits in his car and turns up music loud and let's it all out. Said the same he would rather he a longer drive.

The new president doesnt want anybody to work. So maybe one day we will not have to have a work commute.

52 minutes. Area I work in has a lower cost of living compared to where I live but my family and my wife's family all live in the area we live so neither of us care to move.

Right around 20 depending on traffic. In the morning I like a little longer drive (like preparing myself mentally in morning), but drive home it's about perfect, unwind enough but get home decently quick. If I need to, I'm guilty of sitting in car in driveway cranking some tunes.

My day job, about 9 miles, my other job (lawn service) is a 50 foot walk to the barn to load mowers.
As much as I would love living in the middle of nowhere, being in a fairly populated area has a few advantages as far as work goes...now if all the yuppies could find a new suburbia...
