No I have not since they won't allow us to cut that out but it's gonna be better then leaving the y open. I got a 76 in garage now. We put the 72 aside for now.

demoboy333 If you were to plate the open side like you're talking, could you just leave the outer most still open Y section or do you think it would get into the tires eventually?

Yes I think it would go into tires. There's no good way to keep that section over there. It don't have all the extra metal like a imp does. A loaded bumper could help hold it but with shortening the front as much as he can your already going to be cutting that front section off. Here's a idea I had on the 72. But just don't know how it would hold so that's why it's outside not being built just yet. To my rules i couldnt cut the y outside part off. the only thing I could do is take and plate down the sides to 14 inchs after shortening so I was going close they up some (using the metal that is there no seam welding it up like we all would want to do) but not so much to draw attention to it then take my 6 by 6 allowed for all thread and welded then from the inside to give it the look from out side that it's not welded then pin the Y to help give it the look it needed it.

I had that exact thought and idea. 🤔🤔I’m allowed a 5x5 I think. And with a plate on top, you couldn’t see in there.

What seems to be winning shows with those rules? There is something to be said about Caddys being the right car for Stirrin Dirt rules when 4 of the top 5 cars at Utah State Fair were all Caddys.

To be fair, track sizes are a little bit bigger in Utah so that can make a difference too. Full track on a huge arena obviously you will do alot more damage in something that weighs significantly more, but up in MN tracks are alot smaller where nimble and attack is more helpful.
