Looking for advice on what car to build. Rules are a limited weld. 14 inch bracket, caddy I have to leave front 18 inches, 6 down bars to frame, no creasing, loaded bumpers, lower cradle, braced rears. Pretty much CCC street stock. I’ve built an 03 before, but trying something new doesn’t scare me. I can swap steering on the 03 as well. It’s a heats and feature deal as well. I get 8 plates after heat. Thanks in advance!

I really think it comes down to track size. I think the cadi would be my choise until the track gets small then the mobility begins to be a factor

Just watched a caddy on small track this past weekend and he was laying some good shots down and could chase ford's down just as good. Got lucky and no one got his steering. But it wasn't a surprise he won it tho with who the driver was. All depends if you want weight or maneuverability.

Ford makes it, Chevy shakes it, Mopar breaks it!

Both steering sucks I'd take caddy I like hitting things with imperials so thst feeling of weighing almost double and pushing whatever you hit is a nice feelin your no stranger to an 03 though the best car is the one you know and are confident in.

X2 take what you want like have parts for and will run again experience with a car is important more than the "right car"

The 03 is around 115” and much lighter. All things being equal the 03 will drive circles around the cadi. Yes sir that's what I was getting at. Caddy has the weight to pack a punch in hits or he can drive circles around the heavy cars till one gets ahold of him.

The Caddy will be pretty tough with those rules, my next limited weld Im building over the winter is a 69. I don't have much experience with 03s though.

Tranny brace and if yes, can the lower be tied to tranny brace? By what you wrote and knowing a little about the street stock rules I am assuming that is a no, so id take the 10. Know several people that have 03s with pretty much this exact rule set with no tranny brace bending cars with firewalls still in them. Save the caddy where you can tie in a little more, IMO.

If you can’t do any creasing can you fix the back end so it won’t plow

Thank you all for the responses. To answer some questions, I am allowed an aluminum ultra bell and thats it, so no. And besides from looking at pictures of them, no I am not familiar with the fronts on these. I just got rules clarification that I can only use the 14x4 plate to cover the Y. I can not pull it in to close it and weld, but I can use the plate and the body mount plate to cover a majority of it. As far as the trunk, I can tuck and maybe get away with short trunking it.

So you can lay the plate in the rail and weld it closed still if promoter allows you to do so.

I'm just talking of cutting the outer side off not the hole horn. You just taking the bent metal out and making it like chanel and closing it with your bracket. Sorry should of explained better. Here's a pic over the frame when I sent mine to promoter about cutting mine off and using 14 inch bracket to close it back in
