Whats the best rearend to put in 1985 mer grand marquise with out spend alot

Define a lot? What's your fab skills? Full float will be best bang for buck if allowed and are capable of making brackets. Strongest bolt in stock is a 12 bolt. Most common bolt in is a ten bolt

12 bolt gm is your best option w/o any fab work to do.

12 bolt gm is your best option w/o any fab work to do. Keep in mind. Your gear selection for a factory 12 bolt bia is virtually non existent. so I'd run a 8 3/4 rear end or a 10 bolt with 9inch side gears and you can then run 31 spline 12 bolt axles in your 10 bolt and have.gear selection
