I have a 28 spline 9 inch with tapered axles and the 30 spline gm 10 bolt c clip. Trying to decide which is better.

I'd personally run the 9 inch are you sure it's 30 spline?
Also think about which is easiest to mount

No just the stock gears probably 2:-- something. I think im going to look for something else. With the axles tapered on the 9 inch has me worried.

I ran the same 28 splines for 2 years until I broke the diff then upgraded, some cars had 3.00 which worked ok for me. Not great but got me out there. My motors stock so it's not a axle breaker

Yes as its a '93 Roadmaster wagon rear I run these 91-96 bubble wagon rear ends a lot. I love them. Most people around me will not run a c clip rear end but never bothered me any. I have never broke an axle in one, but I have bent a housing..
