Not necessarily a must have, nice and look cool but not necessary. I like the nlr inserts for stock bumpers and it achieves the same task but the look and everything else that comes with the replica/manufactured bumpers is nice

That is insane to me but I don't have that kind of cash. I will have less than 2000 in my imperial when I run it in july. I have never had more than 1500 in an entire car before. If they allow bumpers like this to run they might as well allow 6x6 square tubing stuffed and welded straight to the front of cars, there is no difference. That’s pretty much what the homemade and replica bumpers are...... Right but our rules make you have a stock appearing bumper, so these replica bumpers can run but just a piece of square hardnosed to a car can't.

If you build one to look similar to a car bumper and don't feel like welding a skin on, wrap the thing in aluminum foil and get a laugh out of them. I'd pass it lol.

Yes i do think that alot of these parts made by vendors are prolly designed better and more reliable than what the average guy can make in his garage but when it comes to these replica bumpers i don't give a sh!t what anyone says...when you spend that much on a bumper its for one of two reasons only and that's either because you are financially secure enuf and can afford it or you just simply want the cool guy points...simple as that! Because why spend that much if you can build one yourself for a hell of a lot less and serve the same purpose and perform just as well? And don't tell me "It saves me time" because if you can afford to spend that much vs finding the time to make one...then your financially secure like i said earlier cause i guarantee you most of us will "find the time" before paying that much.

Hell I've never paid over 200 for any bumper including Texas pointies and any 74 gm or mopar bumper. Its insane what people pay for this shit for "look at me" stuff. It's nothingt brag about either... very simple logic here. Quit buying it and the prices will go down to a reasonable range when they realize its to much

I build rather than buy. It has amazed me more than once what a guy will spend on a bumper these days. I have bought many cars cheaper than a lot of the going rates on some of these.

I call those people fools.

Anymore guys don't even want to sell clean old iron bumpers for 300-$400, they can just waffle them on Facebook for 600-$700 ea
It would be nice with a replica bumper to not need to re skin it every so often.. I can load a stock one where it never bends but the chrome always gets ripped apart and needs re skinned or plated over.

Exactly, that is what is starting to happen on the New Yorker bumper I ran on my caddy. For our more limited weld type cars I can have a “lighter” duty replica made, no heavier than a loaded stock bumper but definitely stronger. It all depends on car choice and how much you do to it. A caddy is pretty open and same with a tilted vic, this olds is going to be softer up front and more of a rear end car, no matter the bumper you have to hide the nose on some cars.
