I'm building a stock 83 Grand Marquis and was wondering what would be the best bumper to choose between a Flat Newport and a 74 Monte? Can't seam weld, can't add any metal or welding. The front horns of the frame will be cut just in front of the core support.
Thanks for the help.

My pick on this car would be the Newport between the two but you can't go wrong with either. I would find an 80's steel bumper and use that though if you can't seam weld the bumper though. I have junked plenty of good bumpers when they weren't seam welded.

May be wrong here, but wouldn't that car come with steel bumpers factory? unless you bought it with out.

You are right. It came with a factory steel bumper but it wasn't on the car when I bought it...
