I'm guessing the only solution to these rear air bags is to pull them and put a spring in there place? Assuming they wouldn't hold the abuse of a Derby? Car is a 92

Correct. Simple as pulling bags out and putting coils right in

Coils are a direct replacement. Conversions are done frequently on drivers, in fact I did one on my old '92 Vic. It was as easy as: 1. Put car on jackstands. 2. Put floor jack underneath pumpkin, supporting it. 3. Undo lower shock bolts. 4. Loosen air bags. IIRC, they just kinda twist out. 5. Lower floor jack, remove air bags 6. Install coils, installation is the reverse of removal.
Worst part was the rusty shock nuts.
