what are the best stock coils to use to gain rear height and stiffness in a box ford . I have tried swapping with 70s mid size rear gm coils and 80s gm rear style sedan and wagon coils. The height was all the same with then. Needs to be oem rear coil springs

It's not what spring you use it's how you use it An it's not an easy process .. Treat them like the rules .

Also, just thinking out loud here. Some Chevy and GMC trucks came with rear coils in 72 and older. Are they anything that could be used? I have no experience with them, and have honestly never even seen them up close. Just asking.

Front springs out of a vic. Free height is shorter than the stock rears but once put in it actually sets the rear higher than stock.

Allthread shocks an rasie your car. An wire or weld whatever spring in. But with this being a ford why rasie the rear. Most of us are lower them.

Depends on height of other cars that usually show up and if stock Springs probably stock build then I'd keep it up some....spring wise stretch them and change where the shock mounts to the rear...

It's not an easy task An if not careful you will either hurt someone or bend spring An make it even harder to get back in. If you don't have the means or unsure about it. Choose a different route . Need to attach to both ends in two different places . Come alongs or heavy equipment is my suggestion .

I use to stretch them yeara ago. A little heat and let it cool naturally. It use to work great. However it is dangerous and should never be attempted. by anyone. If you do try it, throw a blanket over your chains, cables or whatever while under pressure. If it does come loose it gets tangled up in the blanket using up much if the energy released. Personally, Id just throw some caddy limo springs in it.

Stock stretched springs with new holes drilled for shock bolt. And shortened lowers for pinion angle. This was for no hump plate bone stock shows. I liked to raise the rear so I could run smaller tires on the rear. And so I didn't loose any bumper height.

thats what im looking to do. stock shows is all i run . just cant get rear high enough with small rear tires . thanks to all
