whats the best way to keep steering in these cars with stock only rules

I've heard people leaving it loose at the firewall so it can shift and drop or raise as needed at least a little bit. What is stock in your area..stock has alot if different meanings in different areas.. around here our stock class allows after market columns and pedals and everything except dp and trans braces and after market bells

well havent broke anything yet . never ran one let alone never seen one before lol . all old iron is dryed up where im at . just want to do some home work before something goes wrong . everyone on here says put a u jiont in there but cant for my rules.

If you can't do anything to fix the problems then there is no reason to worry about the problems. Fix what your allowed and give her hell.

take all the bolts out of the firewall steering column plate, take the bolts out of column support so it lays on seat and use chain to fasten it to cage dashbar. This'll give it some movement to prevent some binding as car bends.

whats the best way to keep steering in these cars with stock only rules upload pictures onlineSteering column was stock. Was unbolted at the firewall and chained to the dash. Was still steering just fine.
