I've got access to a 74 Olds Cutlass that has had an engine fire sometime in its life. The engine and tranny are gone, so I don't know what shape they were in, the fire was hot enough it melted the radiator, but fire didn't really scorch the interior. Is it worth building for a stock show, or has the fire most likely screwed with the integrity of the frame? imageshack.us/a/img921/6349/j6Qjpn.jpgimageshack.us/a/img922/5413/R6W2WM.jpg

Run that thing im a fire men put plenty of car fires out the something that old the only thing that burned out of control probably was front tires yea they get out of control but unless that frame was glowing orange then qwench with cold water it will be ok.Now if the car was in garage fire and burnt to crisp not a chance.

These cars aren't that great to start. With the fire, it hasn't gotten better. Build it and have fun.

I would run it, but if I had to buy it, it would have to be at a HIGHLY discounted price.

The bumper is factory, it just looks funny because the driver side shock exploded and shot the bumper out. And yes, the car is at a pretty heavy discount and can get it for 200ish.
I'm not a veteran, but I'm far from a rookie. I've probably built 10 cars at this point and have half a dozen wins. I know the mid size GMs aren't the best, but I've had good luck with a 76 Malibu before.

And on a side note, sorry for the pics showing up as a link and not a pic. I'm doing this all off my phone and I haven't quite figured it all out yet.

You have to copy and paste the image url, not the actual site url. That's your issue. You'll find a tab that says share, or a chainlink, and all of the links are usually in there.

The fire wasn't hot enough to heat the frame much due to the passenager fender not having paint melted off like drivers side. We r running a caddy that looks the same as yours.
