We use the MSD street fire HEI. Only issue I had one time was the rotor button was not tight when pulled out box. Ran good until button got loose and the two screws came out ,button popped up the distributor cap and button landed on the intake behind the carb. And of course my screaming little 350 cut off. Out the box check screws!!!!!

I also use the msd streetfire. Only problem I had with it was after 2 seasons of running, I broke a rotor that cost me a win. But I did purchase a flamethrower module to put in it when I first got it. I love mine. Jmo

Running HEI with MSD hei coil an then flamethrower module with rev limiter built in is what we put in ours also. Works great. No problems yet. Upped the spark with both coil an flamethrower. Reason we done both was because msd only helps to get hotter spark at high rpms an flamethrower helps at low rpms to high rpms. Then running auto lite plugs. Thinking of going to bigger plug wires next but just haven't had a problem with it not starting when hot so why change it when not having problems.

Id never use a pertronix again, had them fail from heat in both derby cars and street cars. Both would get hot and shut off spark and not start for awhile then fire up like no big deal 30 minutes later. But that was ford and mopar maybe they have a better product for gm.
