Like the thread says, what shocks are best to use on a 73 to keep the front down a little longer, we are running wire class.

We are able to collapse them all the war, weld to bumper and then weld to frame

Bumpers. 1. Any automobile bumper may be mounted on any car. Bumper may be welded to shock bracket. 2. Shocks may be collapsed and may be welded lightly. 3. If you choose NOT to weld bumper, ONE piece of chain per side BOLTED may be used to secure bumper. These chains may run around bumper and be bolted back to an existing bolt on the frame. May also run 2 loops of wire, out board of radiator, from radiator support to bumper. These 2 wires will not be part of the 4 used on securing the hood or trunk.

Just use the 73 stock ones if you can weld them.

Just use the 73 stock ones if you can weld them. We want longer shocks, the ones that r on the 73's aren't really shocks, they are just bumper mounts, no length to them

If not hardnosing, Id be more worried about keeping the shock brackets attached to the frame than what shock was in them. Unless you are allowed to cut the back and shove the shock past the end of bracket and weld the hell out of it. That doesn't sound like lightly welded to me.

We are cutting off the brackets. Plan is to weld the shocks to side or top of frame well enough so that they don't fall off

Basically what the plan is simply is hardnose and then put shocks on too. quite the way to set up a wire car lol
