Stock Car Rules
All cars must be standard makes. No CONVERTIBLES, IMPERIALS, or IMPERIAL FRAMES. No 2003 and newer Fords.
No stuffing the frame, hood, trunk lid, or body panels.
Bumpers- bumpers are interchangeable. May stuff/plate bumpers, or may make a homemade bumper up to 6x6 size and must be flat. Cover with a bumper skin. May weld bumper to bracket and bracket to frame.
Frames- May weld frames in front of A frames. May plate Y frame on top and bottom with only ¼” steel or less (No C Channel). May tilt frame ONCE. If cold tilting no plating where tilted. NO cradle swaps. Transmission crossmember MUST be stock and in STOCK location. (if came bolted in from factory must be bolted in) No hump plates.
Motors- motors are interchangeable. Engine cradles are allowed. Transmission braces allowed. If tranny brace is use tranny tunnel must be split clear to the back of the tranny brace. If running a distributor protector firewall must be cut to allow distributor protector to pass through. motor may only be welded to frame in between carburetor and front of pullies. No kickers from dash pipe to engine cradle. If running a mid plate, mid plate may only be 2 inches wider than motor and may not be tied into frame rails in any manner.
Headers, tranny coolers, floor shifters, and electric fuel pumps may be used.
Driver’s door reinforcement may not extend more than 2" out from body and no more than 6" past door seams.
Hoods- may be bolted or chained, but not welded shut. 8 chains or 8 bolts. 4 threaded rod (up to 1") may go through frame. . 6x 6" plates and/or washers may be used. MUST HAVE 8" X 8" HOLE IN HOOD OVER CARBURETOR. Hood must be opened for inspection.
Trunk- lid may be chained, bolted or welded shut. If chaining unlimited chain can be used. May have 4 threaded rod in trunk. 2 to frame (up to 1") patch weld shut 5" on 5" off. May run 1 bar from roof in rear window opening to the trunk lid within 10 inches of front trunk seam. May have 8 inches welded to roof and trunk lid.
Body- doors may be patch welded shut 5"on 5" off. May flap and bolt fenders. Body bolts at Firewall must remain stock.
Cage- 4 point floating cage allowed. NO down bars to frame rails. Halo is allowed, may be attached to top of cage or welded to FLOOR TIN only. 6 inch max side bars and 4 inch max dash and seat bars. Gas tank mount allowed, MUST have 1 inch gap between gas tank mount and rear hump. Dash bar and side bars must be at least 6 inches from firewall. May run 2 straps from dash bar to cowl. If running dp straps must be 2 inches outside of dp area. NO front window bars. Dash bar must also be 6 inches from top of any steel bell housing or transmission brace.
On hard tops only, one strap or chain may run from middle of door post up to roof. If strap is used, it may not be more than 3/16" thick x 3" wide and not welded more than 8" on the roof.
NO WATER BARRELS ALLOWED! You can run Radi‐barrels, barrels may be welded to the frame. May use a 6x6 gusset from barrel to frame. Radiator protector allowed. Use same rules as barrel.
Bolts- body bolts must remain stock. may add four bolts 1" x 9"max ‐ 6" x 6" from floor to frame anywhere in the car. If any body bolts besides core support mount are changed, they will be counted as part of the 4 allowed added bolts.
Rearend- any 5 LUG rearend is allowed
Suspension: NO suspension swaps. No leaf spring conversions. may weld up suspension. No reinforcing a- arms. May run a coil spring over rearend. May cable or chain rearends.

GENERAL RULES:
1. Drivers run at their own risk
2. Drivers must be 16 years or older, drivers under 18 must have notarized written consent
of parent if parent is not present at check in.
3. No one is allowed in pits under the age of 16 - must have picture ID for proof of age.
4. Only derby vehicles and one tow vehicle in pits - no spectator parking in pits.
5. Drivers must wear a seat belt or harness, helmet, and eye protection at all times when
operating vehicle - long sleeves, jeans, and/or fire suit highly recommended.
6. No hot rodding in the pits, keep it at an idle.
7. DO NOT hit the driver’s door - it sometimes happens, but if it looks intentional or
careless, you will be disqualified
8. Two fires in one heat you are done.
9. You are given 1 minute for aggressive hits, 1 minute for restarts and 1 minute if you are
hung up - being hit, hitting the wall, or hitting disabled vehicles do not count.
10. NO sandbagging or holding!!! You will be disqualified!!!
11. All cars must enter west gate of fairgrounds at least one hour before event.
12. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any and/or all latecomers.
13. Drivers and pit person must be present during inspection.
14. All drivers and crewmembers must attend the drivers meeting.
15. Judges reserve the right to re-inspect and disqualify any vehicle during event.
16. Any harassment of judges or Fair Board members by drivers or pit person will result in
disqualification and being banned from any further Fair Board Sponsored events.
17. Disqualification results in forfeiture of entry fee.
18. Any questions: give us a call, if it doesn’t say you can do it, don’t do it - Call 1st .
19. JUDGE’S DECISIONS ARE FINAL!!!
GENERAL PREPARATION RULES: **These rules apply to all classes**
1. All glass, plastic, and pot metal must be removed from the vehicle - nothing may remain in
the bottom of the doors or trunks and all outside hardware must be removed - i.e. mirrors, lights,
chrome, molding, screws, fiber glass, etc.
2. All cars must be standard make with no reinforcement or alterations to the frame unless
specified
3. All flammable materials inside the cab must be removed except necessary safety padding and
seat
4. All vehicles must have a driver’s seat securely mounted to the floor
5. Safety padding is recommended around the driver’s area.
6. All vehicles must exhibit the ability to stop, THIS MEANS AT LEAST 2 WORKING
BRAKES!!!
7. Vehicles must be safe to run and drive.
8. No dirty or vulgar language on vehicle.
9. Must have 12” x 12” (min) roof sign securely fastened with vehicle number visible or it will
not run.
10. Vehicles may add protection over the driver’s window.
11. Original gas tanks must be removed from the vehicle.
12. Your fuel lines must be inside cab and may not go down through the floor and along the
frame rail.
13. Electric fuel pumps are allowed.
14. Batteries must be securely mounted inside the cab and covered in a steel box.
15. Steel transmission coolers will be allowed.
16. ANY bolts, frame seats, battery boxes, fuel tanks, transmission coolers, etc. that extend
through the frame or sub-frame will count as a body mount - please reference the class rules for
how many are allowed.
17. Floor shifters and headers are allowed.
18. Trailer hitches must be removed.
19. Any attempt to cover frames by buffing, grinding, coating with grease, glue, mud, etc. will
result in immediate disqualification.
20. Minimal pre-bending of body is allowed - NO tucking, wedging, or packing allowed - must
have access for inspection.
21. Hoods must be open for inspection.
22. A 12” x 12” (min) hole must be cut above the carburetor.
23. NO split rims or studded tires.
24. Foam filled, doubled tires, and valve steam protectors are allowed.
25. Radiators must have a secured vented down and filled with water or ice only.
26. No snow, bar, or lug tires on drive wheels, regardless of tread condition.
27. Any combination of engine, transmission, and rear end may be used - SEE CLASS RULES.
28. Bends or bubbles on the frame or sub-frame may be fixed on pre-ran vehicles - it may not
extend more than 2” past affected area. The frame may be patched with 3 gauge (¼”) or thinner.
29. If bumpers are removed, the bumper prods must be removed or trimmed.

Small Truck Rules
1. Welding from center of front wheels forward permitted. This is the only frame welding
allowed.
2. Patch and pucker frame. 6” long ¼” thick plate outside of frame only, 8”between
patches.
3. No frame swaps. No Imperial sub frames, K frames, etc. Stock only!
4. Stock bumpers only. Make sure bumper can cover your beam. No pointy bumpers.
5. Must have a hood and must be bolted down in max of six places using 1” rod, 6”
washers max. 12” x 12” opening in the hood above the carburetor. All doors must be
welded shut. Eight 4” x 4” pads per door.
6. Roll bars allowed. Inside the cab can be attached to floating cage, cannot be attached to
frame. In the box can be attached to floor of the box, cannot attach to cab cage or
frame. Kickers can go back to front of rear axle.
7. Dash bar 3” max, door bars and rear cab bars are allowed. No kickers down to the
frame.
8. Cab reinforcement must remain separate from the box.
9. Gear protection in the box cannot be attached to the cab, box front, sides or rear.
10. Tailgate must be welded to the box. Factory tailgates only.
11. No stuffing of body panels (fenders, box sides, etc.)
12. Rear bumpers that are removed, must have frame rails capped using channel or angle,
not to extend further than frame rail width.
13. Prior run trucks must meet rules.
14. May add an additional eight body bolts total, other than factory locations in cab and
box. 6” washers max.
15. 4 x 4’s must have front driveshaft removed.
16. Dodge Dakota’s are allowed. No full size trucks allowed.
17. Motor mounts may be welded. Two additional straps or chains can be added. Must be
behind water pump, but in front of the carburetor.
18. Radi-barrels must be inside frame rails (top and bottom) may be welded or bolted in, 3”
thick outside to outside max and vented down.
19. No homemade spring packs – leafs only.
20. If it doesn’t say you can do it don’t! (It is not allowed!)
21. Look at the general rules as they apply to every pit person and the driver.

BUILDER’S PRO CLASS
Full size
Cages are allowed, Dash bar 2” Min and 5” Max diameter is allowed with one kicker on each side to go
from just behind control arms to dash bar. Behind seat bars and door bars allowed 2” min and 5” Max
diameter and cannot be attached to frame; May have only 2 bars max behind seat in a crisscross
pattern. Must be securely fastened or you will be told to remove it. It is allowed to have 2” down bars
from the Dash bar and the crossbars behind the seat to the frame. Two off of dash bar and two off cross
bar behind seat. Dash bar may connect to the firewall in 2 spots 3”X1/4” max flat stock and cannot be
placed within the dp on the 80’s and newer. If you have a dp or mid plate dash bar must be 6” away
from firewall. If you have a tranny brace, it must be mounted to cross member with factory tranny
mount, free floating or 1 bolt and dash bar must be 2” away from tranny tunnel. Halo bar no further
back than 15” from center post on 4 door cars or 8” on 2 door cars. Can be welded to frame and bolted
to roof. Hallo bar can be attached to the door bars. You can have 4 down bars from the door bars only
located within the front doors and straight down to rocker area 1 door bar per side can go to the frame.
If you have a halo bar you can only have 2 down bars. You can run a gas tank protector that must mount
from the behind the seat bar 30” wide and can go to the sheet metal but must be within the frame rails
with no down bars and be off the floor 2”.
Extra reinforcing on drivers doors is mandatory. We want you to be safe and protected behind your
reinforcement. All doors may be welded solid with 3” X 1/8” thick strap or chained shut.
Hood may be bolted in 8 spots; 4 to the frame and 4 to the sheet metal. The rod may run down through
frame with washers on top and bottom. No larger than 4” x 4” washers. The back hood bolts can have a
4” X ¼” thick triangle to help attach the rod to the frame on top. Trunk lid may be welded solid with 3”
X 1/8” thick strap or bolted every 3”. Trunk may be bolted in 6 spots; 4 to frame and 2 to sheet metal.
Trunk may have a 10” X 4” ¼” strap from bumper to the trunk. You may tuck trunks. No sedagons,
decking must be removed.
Frame can be welded from the firewall forward, top and bottom. Body seams can be welded; 6 on, 6
off. K-frame can be welded solid. May take out pucks and replace with 1” bolts. Y framer can plate the
y’s with a ¼”X16” plate, top and bottom and must touch the bumper. 03 and newer can do a cradle
swap with no torsion bars added.
Body bolts – You may remove pucks, front and back. You may add 3 extra body bolts per side which can
also go to frame with a max of 6”X6” washer. All bolts can be a max of 1”.
Core support and cooling – Core support may have a 2X2 ¼” angle iron on the top of core support from
fender to fender. Radiator barrels or water barrels are okay. Radiator Barrels must be factory size;
cannot touch the frame in anyway; cannot be welded to the angle iron at all. Bolted in 4 spots to core
support or 4-4” welds to core support to hold it in place. Water barrels may be used but not both. Max
size of water barrel is 2’ x 2’ x 2’ must be centered over hump in back seat. Must have 6” clearance off
floor over center hump. Mounted by bolting through floor with washers- No welding washers. May be
braced forward to cage bar, no bracing to rear of car. Must run vent tube under the car.
Fenders – May bolt fenders to wheel well up to 3/8” bolts, front and back. May fold fenders and weld.
If you weld them, you can’t use the bolts. If you bolt them, you can’t weld them. You may weld the
front clip solid. The fenders can’t be welded to the frame.
Windows – Windshield may have 2 bars 3” wide 3/8” thick max. no more than 6” on the firewall and 6”
on the roof. May connect with 2 bars 3” by 3/8” max. Cannot be connected to any hood or trunk bolt.
Rear window may have 1-3” C channel by 3/8” max. No more than 6” on roof and 6” on the trunk or
speaker deck. You may have 9 wire in 2 spots in each window.
Bumpers – Bumpers may be bolted or welded solid. You may fully weld bumpers and brackets. Nothing
can be put inside of frame to mount the bumper unless it came from the factory with it. Bumpers are
interchangeable with any mass produced car bumper. Stock appearing bumpers; we will allow you to
take any bumper apart, weld any material you would like to the inside of bumper and weld the chrome
back on. Everything must be done inside of bumper, nothing on the outside. Old style Birds may add a 4
x 4 beam between frame rails but in line with core support. Beam cannot go farther back than factory
core support location.
Drive train – Motor and tranny of choice; in stock location. Maybe welded or chained, the motor tiedown
cannot exceed in front pulleys or 2: behind the heads to top or side of frame, 2X3/8” flat stock and
cannot be laid flat on frame. Mid plates cannot be tied to the frame in any way or be wider than the
motor. No extreme type full engine protectors.
Suspension – Rear suspension must remain stock, 80’s and newer may leaf or run a 15” hump plate that
has to follow the outside contour of the frame. Full floater rear ends are okay, double coils are okay on
coil cars. Leaf spring cars have up to 9 leafs per side and may be clamped in 6 spots per side. Must be
factory springs out of a car and cannot be home made. Rear end may be chained in 2 spots per side of
car. Coil springs may be wired in. Upper and lower trailing arms maybe reinforce, but they still have to
function in a factory manner. The front suspension may be welded with 2 -2”X5” straps, Do not
strengthen frame or A arms, you can bolted or use spring spacers for height. Tie rods may be
reinforced, but must function in a factory manner. A arms cannot be reinforced.

Full Size Chain Class
1. Headers through hoods allowed.
2. Stock (original) gas tanks must be removed. You must use a boat tank or well made fuel cell and
it must be secured and covered. No plastic tanks or gas cans. Fuel lines must be secured and
fastened properly. Place fuel cell behind driver’s seat of the car where the back seat used to be.
Must be fastened down securely, no plumber’s strap, bungee straps or self tapping screws.
3. Any car allowed except Imps
4. No studded tires or wheel weights. No snow or aggressive tires on drives.
5. Valve stem protectors are acceptable; they must meet judge’s safety standards or be taken off.
6. Radiator barrels are ok but must be bolted in 4 places only (Not welded).Cannot touch the frame
in any way. If for any reason you use the barrel to strengthen the frame or car you must remove
it or you will be disqualified.
7. Tranny coolers are acceptable inside or outside the car but must have approved steel or
hydraulic hose.
8. Bumper may be welded to shocks, bolted, or chained to the frame so we don’t have loose
bumpers on the track. You may trim ends. Bumpers are interchangeable. Bumper brackets must
be factory to the car.
9. Windshield screens are highly recommended.
10. If not running stacks through the hood, a hole must be cut for fire safety.
11. Trunk lids and hood may be fastened in 6 places with 3/8 chain, 4 loops maximum. 9 wire is OK.
12. Driver’s door may be welded shut and all other doors chained with 3/8. 2 per seam. No welding
of any other doors but driver’s door. The bottom of the door seams may be chained through the
door and around the frame.
13. Frames must be factory stock. No tilting Fords in any way.
14. No welding up A arms or tie rods. May weld up suspension no more than 3” height.
15. Batteries must be placed in the passenger’s side floorboard and secured and covered. Any 12
volt battery safely in the car is allowed.
16. Body mounts must remain in stock position, no bolt replacing.
17. No welding leaf springs or adding extra leafs. May have up to 4 clamps per side.
18. No welding body seams and no floor plating.
19. Cutting for wheel clearance is allowed.
20. Homemade shifters are allowed
21. Driver’s side window nets are recommended.
22. Motors are interchangeable. May be welded down between motor mounts and behind front
pulleys, do not get carried away.
23. Dash bars are recommended. Floating cage must be 12” off floor and not attached to frame.
24. NO PROTECTORS, CRADLES OR SLIDERS. IF IT’S NOT A PART FROM THE AUTOMOTIVE
FACTORY, YOU CAN’T RUN IT.
25. Coil springs may be welded, chained or wired in.
26. No ¾ ton or larger rear ends

SEMI-STOCK BIG TRUCKS
1. Up to ¾ tons. Frames under 7” tall, not more than ¼ thick. No Imperial subs, K frames, etc. No
double frames, 4x4’s must remove front drive shafts.
2. Welding from center of front wheels forward permitted. This is the only frame welding allowed
unless stated.
3. Driver’s door may be reinforced, but not to extend more than 2”from original body or 5” past
front and rear door seams.
4. Dash bars 3” max, door bars and rear cab bars allowed. No kickers down to frame.
5. Cab and box may be bolted down to the frame with no more than eight additional 1” bolts total
between cab and box. Cab and box bolts can only hold the floors to the frames. Washers cannot
exceed 6” diameter.
6. Box and cab can be seam welded.
7. Tailgates must be welded on and in stock position. IF TAILGATE FALLS OFF, YOU ARE
DISQUALIFIED! Factory tailgates only, No flapping of boxes.
8. One strap per side may be welded over taillight holes. Max of 4”wide, ¼ thick. May not exceed
3” beyond each side of light hole.
9. Radi-barrels must be inside frame rails (top and bottom). They may be welded or bolted. The
barrels can be up to 3” thick outside to outside and must be vented down.
10. Hoods must have 12”x12” hole in the center. Held down with six 1” rods and only one bolt on
each frame rail behind center of wheels can be welded to frame rail with not more than 6” to be
welded to frame. That one bolt must be in front of the most forward place of the firewall Must
have hood on truck!
11. If floor is not there, you may weld in a floor not to exceed 1/8” thickness and may not be welded
to the frame. Judges will have a drill and if in question, it will be checked.
12. Gas tanks: stock tanks must be removed. Trucks must have tank in the box and in front of the
rear axle. Max 6 gallon tank and must be securely fastened. No plastic tanks, No ratchet straps,
bungee cords or zip ties allowed.
13. Engine in vehicle does not have to be of same manufacturer as the body. Motor mounts may be
welded. Any attaching of motors or cradles must be in front of center of front wheels.
14. No pointy bumpers!
15. Rear bumpers that are removed must have frame rails capped using 4” channel or angle, not to
extend further than frame rail width.
16. Suspension welding allowed- NO LIFT KITS. Suspensions must be in stock position. May build leaf
packs but must be of automotive type.
17. Roll cage allowed. Braces going from back of cab in the box must stay in front of wheel wells and
can only be bolted to frame.
18. Patch and pucker frame. 6” long ¼” thick plate outside of frame only, 8” between patches.

20. Look at the general rules as they apply to every pit person and the driver.
21. 30” is the Max height to the bottom frame in the front and the rear can be no more than 6”
lower than the front.

PICKUPS: STOCK FULLSIZE
1. Only ½ and 3/4 ton allowed. 4 x 4’s allowed with front drive shaft removed. 73 and newer only no
straight frames.
2. Front core support may be reinforced with 1 – 2x2 perpendicular to each frame rail with a 3 inch
channel or angle across the core support – fender to fender. NO KICKERS TO FRAME.
3. Driver’s door may be reinforced with steel not to extend more than 1” from original body or 4” beyond
front to back of door seams. Under floor on driver’s side only, you may run channel or angle from frame
to rocker and from back of driver’s seat to firewall.
4. May install dash pipe no larger than 3” diameter pipe with 5”x5”x¼” pads on each and between front
door posts. A kicker may be added from dash pipe to passenger rocker, no larger than 3” diameter with a
5”x5”x¼” pad on the end. A diagonal pipe may be added behind the seat.
5. Cab and box may be bolted down to the frame no more than 8 additional ¾” bolts between cab and
box. Washers cannot exceed 6” diameter.
6. Box may be welded to cab with 4-4”x4”x¼” pads on the sides and/or 4-¾” bolts with 4”x4” washers
can be used , also a 2”x2” angle iron on top front of box to cab.
7. Tailgates must be welded on and in stock position. Tail gates must remain vertical, seam welding on
tailgates is ok - IF TAILGATE FALLS OFF, YOU ARE DISQUALIFIED.
8. All doors must be tied shut with single loop chain or 6-2”x4” pads per door.
9. One strap per side may be welded over taillight hole, Max of 4” wide ¼” thick and may not exceed 3”
beyond each side of the light hole.
10. Radi barrels must be inside frame rails (top and bottom), may be welded or bolted. The barrels can be
3” thick outside to outside and must be vented down.
11. Hoods: All hoods must be able to be opened for inspection; they must have a 12”-14” hole over the
carburetor. It would be a good idea to bolt straps to hood or together. 4-¾” rods may be used to hold hood
down. Rods may be welded or bolted to the frame. 12 total hood bolts – 2 to the frame at the core support.
12. If floor is not there, you may weld in a floor not to exceed 1/8” thickness and may not be welded to
the frame. Judges will have a drill and if it is a question it will be checked.

wheel wells and can only be bolted to frame.
20. Homemade bumpers are allowed. No V shaped bumpers allowed. This includes Newport and New
Yorker bumpers
21. Patch and pucker frame. 6” long ¼ thick plate outside of frame only. 8” between patchs.

General Prep Rule 26 - No snow, bar, or lug tires on drive wheels, regardless of tread condition!!
