I recently purchased a 73/74 wagon as owner is unsure of year and don't have a pic of VIN yet. Probably going to go chain and go maybe limited weld. Has 400 in it with plastic timing chain that went south. Know I need to replace that and drop oil pan to get chunks out. What are some do's and don't's?

i scooped out gear chunks from M oil pans still on the motor,, in these cars,, because the sump is in the front,, better to remove it,,,,but,, see how it looks,, chain the motor down,,, the motor mounts break,, do everything you can to make sure the back goes up... otherwise,,, you will have a ford road grater.. its old,,, might have to go through the carb,, we use electric pumps on our 400,, utilize the AC brackets to "make" a dist. protector.. if you get my drift,, mount the coil behind it,, the mark in my photo,,, has a 400 in it,, ................lenny
