I would swap it with an 8.8" solid, 8", or 9". More gearing choices and less parts to break. With the right setup, the IRS can be great, but if you just want the easier/cheaper route, I'd go with a solid axle.

I agree with throwing a solid axle under it. I saw a irs bird run in the midsize class a month ago. One light hit in the rear wheel and he was done.

was thinking of swapping in a solid axle just didn't know if it was worth the time if the irs can be made a little stronger

Can the IRS be madetermined stronger? Yes, anything can be made stronger. But, it's gonna cost you a lot of cash, and a lot of your time. A-arms, balljointso, axles, etc. Just like a front end, you have to reinforce or redesign everything if you want it to be the best it can be.

The last enduro I went to that had MN12's running, both had a rear tire stuffed in by the end of the race. A solid axle is probably your most reliable bet.
On the flip side my buddy has one in my woods as a beater, we slapped 31's on it and have been routinely beating it up for years and both rears are still straight as an arrow. Really depends on if you can keep the tires safe or not.
