Not always true. There's a group of mid 60s BOPs that aren't absolutely terrible for derby. Do I know which ones? Nope, but the mid 60s Buicks and Olds 98s ring a bell.

There are actually a few 60s BOPs that would do quite well with a front or rear stub(some are c channel a arms forward, some hump back). I've yet to run anything from the 60's, but got to watch/look at a well built late 60's buick(I'm pretty sure) wagon that was stubbed firewall forward...thing was very hard in the back. I remember seeing a few different 60's poncho wagons run as i was a kid, but the 90s around here were a different story...everyone loaded everything.. If you have a pretty open set of rules(as far as stubbing, body mounts, leaf pack, etc) I'd run one.

There was a 60s Buick that ran Bash in '13. I didn't get a really good look at it but I'd assume if it wasn't decent, they wouldn't have wasted their time with it at Bash.

It has the frame that comes together in the middle.

If its an x frame, i wouldn't bother with it. I "think" most GMs had the x frame from 58-64, but a few of the BOPs(Buick, Olds, Pontiac) had perimeter, or "hybrid" frame designs. I'm not really sure what your wildcat has, as the buicks came out with a bunch of different stuff in the late 50's, to mid 60s and i'm really not brushed up on it. Yes, it's the x frame. Any way to make it tough?

I wouldn't bother messing with it to be honest. if its somewhat clean, could always try to sell/trade if you already own it.

I'm a little late to the party on this one. Does this Buick still have the engine or trans? The engine should be a Nailhead. Guys like me are looking for them.
