Well the title basically tells the problem, we are getting power to the distributor(even when turning the motor over) but have no spark, have have tested using an inline spark tester. So naturally we think its gotta be something with the distributor, so we changed it out with another one(both were in running motors). Same problem, switched cap, rotor, and ignition module, still no spark. I've had 3 very knowledgeable people look at it and tell me they have no idea. Probably overlooking something obvious so don't count that out.

Sounds like it's 180 degrees out. Did you try pulling it up spinning rotor to opposite position?

BEING ANY AMOUNT OUT OF TIME WILL NOT STOP THE SPARK. SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE POWER WIRE, OR TERMINAL IT PLUGS INTO....

Check the button under the coil.

I know this sounds stupid but are you plugging it into the right terminal on the hei?

Lol been there done that. Try grounding out the distributor. Sounds stupid, and trust me, I thought so too, until it decides to run. Couldn't figure out why my truck wouldn't start the morning of the derby, after completely rebuilding the distributor, then replacing it, I ran a wire from the cage to the coil ground and it fired right up.

Like mentioned before, check the button under the coil. It's something very easy to look over and not easily noticed.
I've had em break before.

Rotor spins, we changed distributors 3 times, put on a different cap and rotor.

what crusher said 100%....
have someone hold the power wire tight up into the distributor....bet you'll find it'll run.....
if it does then add a new power wire and clip and change that brass piece inside the dist the power wire connects to.....
(for safe measure I like to tape the shit out of that wire to the dist anyway....even tho it latches....had it in past be a bad connection...)

Forget the inline spark tester. Stick a skinny screwdriver in a spark plug wire and hold the screwdriver while someone spin the engine over.
