I have wired them up with switch...or even with oil pressure sender on motor.

Negative. Never had time to watch for one and sure as hell don't want to see the oil pressure or a temp gauge. Run them wide open until they won't start.... Hell I ran a 377 for 3 minutes with a broken connecting rod this year....

I ran a 4.3 with no oil or water for 15 minutes due to a thrown rod. It ran half way decent on five cylinders until it got too hot to refire. After it cooled down, I drove it on the trailer. I never found the missing rod. I guess its still on the track somewhere.

This broke an arp 2000 rod bolt in an eagle h beam rod... She seized the number 1 and 2 rod bearings after number 3 went flying...

If your that worried about whether your engine is running or not get headers with flappers on them

Used to put one in my uncle's cars. He always ran stock stuff without headers but he is deaf so we put the light on to help him
