Anyone know if I can use the stock ignition but wire it up like the old iron, just the starter, distributor wire? Not running an alternator. Thanks

Stock class has to be original ignition.

Go buy an ignition switch from tractor supply. Technically, it's a key ignition, it's a stock ignition system, trchnically. Ask your promoter about it.

There is a way to use stock ones. Our buddy uses them. No key just the piece with the the rod. The rod has all the positions then weld a washer on it for u to grab easier.

Why not run an alternator? And your promoter is an idiot.

Couldn't agree more. All the other shows are pit on by an actual promotion team but the local fair have their "ownrules" we have to go by. Like I said, I know it's fuxked up but its the hometown show so I'd like to run and not possibly gwt pissed of and arrested lol

Run the stock ignition switch and put a push button back up down beside you in the crack of the seat. I ran a backup push button starter switch for many years back in the knock the windows out days.

Just never have. Yes, have an expensive farm and truck battery that I make sure is full charged and good the night before. I leave unhooked till we pull out onto the track. Some people run one, I choose not too. This isn't about an alternator anyways, thanks everyone I'll hide a push button
