It will dump wherever the homemade frame ends, unless you have ever lots of kickers. However, I wish I had a set of rules that would allow a homemade frame....I'd be happy with homemade frame firewall forward that would be awesome.

Well, my frame is completely homemade from rear axle to crush boxes. Front was just plated and kickered. It's a 5ft car, that's why I'm thinking a custom front frame

I'd say wack it off before the boxes and put your thinking cap on and let the welding wire burn.... run the rails on the same Plaine as the side rails nice leaf pack from firewall to bumper, straight Axle etc....

5ft/outlaw build: If ya don't want the frame to bent period,ya have to reinforce the WHOLE DAM frame/body period.Kickers help but plating the frame/filling frame ect does wonders.Just a example: 1/4 + plate welded on entire frame from crossmember to front bumper with kickers.Say you use a stock 4inch c-channel frame, use 3.5 inch c-channel on the inside to double it up and weld the piss out of it.Run down bars to the frame like at firewall/infront of rear tires.Don't use $hit steel, use around 1/4 thick wall tubing/round bar ect.Weld add steel, weld add steel x 10.Crete in a frame/plated is a good old timer trick.Steel yards hate it.
Custom building a frame you will encounter more headach's then it's worth. Not to mention nothing lining up like a factory frame.Better off to load up a factory frame.

Just keep in mind, weight=lots of strain...both on drivetrain, and suspension. Gussets and kickers are more important than throwing plate on top of plate IMO. If the frame cant move up, down, or side to side, it's only option is to accordian...and thats where the extra plate comes in.
